Chapter 4

there was a knock on the door as it flew open

"Nessa are you done"  i take a step back as quickly as I possibly could.

"Oh sorry sir, i was looking for nessa, I didn't see you come up"

Mr. Mathews cleared his throat and walked around his desk and sat down.. he looked like he was born to be there..

" thats fine Adam, as you can see she's here."

Adam shifted his feet feeling uneasy about walking in to what was or seemed to be happening.

"We were just about heading to the cafe for breakfast. And our shift will be starting soon. Sorry for the intrusion sir." And turned to me

" Nessa I'll be waiting outside for you" and he turned around and left.

This was awkward..
I turned to Mr Mathews and excused my self to leave when he spoke up again.

" Vanessa i am looking forward to working with you"  he said with his dazzling smile that lit up his hazel eyes. Those eyes that were looking at me. I felt my heart swell as i took a deep breath remembering that i was holding it for some time now.
Walking out of the office Adam was standing there with his cheeky grin and walked up to me and kept winking at me like a little kid who just found out a secret.

" oh stop it Adam nothing happened for Christ sake."

" but you do wish something happened right, admit it Nessa. I know its true"

" oh stop" i say and sped off towards the lift.

"What will you have Nessa? "  Adam had ordered his usual and i wasn't sure if wanted anything.  

" ill have a coffee and a sandwich" I said and turned to take a seat at our usual spot by the side where we were out of view to anyone outside looking in.

"Mmm .. i love the taste of coffee " i took another sip

"I'll take it anywhere anytime " and I breathe in the sweet smell i love so much.

"Are you still talking about coffee or something els..?" Adam gives me sly smile.  

" oh eat up will you, our time is almost up" i say as i embrace the last of my breakfast.
We both stood and waved to the Rose at the counter. She has been quite warm and friendly to us. But she's a feisty old lady when she needs to be.

Today was a very busy day as a lot of guest had come to meet and greet Mr Mathews. But the annoying part was that half the guest are ladies who think they can win his heart.
I was in a sour mood all day waiting for the shift to end so i can just stop smiling at all those annoying women. I cant believe he just escorts them around like that. Isn't anyone jealous of the other, the women just swoon over him like bees to honey.  

"Ugh" i say out loud in frustration. Adam looks up at me with a questioning look.

"Sorry I didn't want it to come out loud like that"

" oh Nessa be aware of him. He will brake your heart if you don't be careful."

" He is your Boss. Looking at thing now we don't know what his personal life is like."

"I know Adam. Thats why I'm so frustrated. I don't understand what's wrong with me."

"Thinking about someone again after what happened is scary. I don't need to re-live that nightmare."
