Chapter 5

-FLASHBACK-

"Daddy please, Steven is a good man. I will marry only him thats final" I know i will get what i want no matter how much my dad says no.

And he knows it too.. since my mom passed away when i was 9 he has not been able to say no to me. Yeah yeah i am a spoiled little rich kid.

"Ness can you please for the last time think about it a little more" he begged me.

" don't you think your rushing in to this whole marriage thing too soon."

" you just turned 18 for christ sake." He sounded sad more than angry knowing he cant change my mind.
I felt bad seeing the sadness in his eyes. And the lines of worry across his forehead..

"but I know Steven is who i want and know that he will take care of me. He's the most amazing and kindest man daddy" i pleaded.

My dad doesn't seem to be convinced.

"He's 10 years older than you. And he doesn't have a proper income"

" oh please dad he's Actor he has more money than you can imagine "

"No ness i don't trust the man" he was determined to change my mind.

" I'm old enough to make my own decisions daddy" i said angry now.

" its what Steven and i want" i said storming out of his office.

A took out my phone and dialed Steve's number.

" hey baby how did you know " he said when he answered in just two rings.

"What do you mean.?" I was confused.

" how did you know I missed you so much, i was just thinking of how nice it would be when we are married , I won't need to miss you ever again"
Steven was so sweet and i love him so much

" its nothing more i want than to be yours babe" i feel bad that i need to break to him about my dad being against our marriage. But i need to tell him so we can think of something to convince him.

" steven baby you know my dad is not happy that I'm getting married so young right. And i cant seem to change his mind. "

" what..! Why..? What do i do now" he says in rushed words. I feel bad thinking he said that because he cant seem to think of a life without me.

" oh babe what i mean is .." he tries to explain

" I know what you mean babe its ok"

" but what are we gonna do"

" Do you want me to talk to your dad "

" do you think we should do it together "

" maybe I should call my brother for some support too, since he is a big fan of you" i said hopefully.

Steven agreed to get Brandon involved to try convince my dad. We hung up and i soon called Brandon and asked him to meet us tomorrow for dinner. And explained to him on what is about to happen.

The day seemed to snail its way to the next. I couldn't even sleep right through the night. I knew i needed calm down but just couldn't.
In the morning I heard my dad walking around getting ready for work. A few minutes later he knocked on my door.

"Ness I'm going to office now. I'll be home for dinner" he said and waited for me to reply

" ok" is all i said. He stood there for  a little more and left. I heard the front door close and a little while later the engine of his suv roar to life and leave the driveway.

I have this sinking feeling that i miss talking to my dad like other days. I have always woken up and been there when he left for work every day as he leaves early even before i leave for school. I've got to get him to understand that Steven is a good guy.
I got myself out of bed and took a shower brushed my teeth. Got a pair of shorts and tee on and went downstairs to get some breakfast. I called Brandon to confirm our dinner and i was happy he was on our side.
I called Steven next.

"Hey babe, hope you had a good night sleep"

" baby i was thinking of you all night wandering if things will workout tonight "

" I'm sure Brandon will make a good impression for us steve. Lets meet up a bit early so we can talk"

"Ok ness lets do that"

" i miss you " i say

" i miss you more" says Steven and before he hung up.

I sat on the sofa flipping through channels. I hear a doorbell ring. I didn't even realize i had fallen asleep and the sound of the doorbell woke me up.
I take a peep to see who it is and shriek when i see its Steven. Its so good to see him again.
Swinging the door open i jump into his arms and kiss him all over his face before claiming his lips.
I finally step back and let him in.

" i missed you babe"

" i missed you too" he says and sits on the sofa and pulls me on to his lap and pulls my hair aside and kisses my neck. A sigh escapes me. This is what i want to be doing for the rest of my life i think.

"Its almost 7 now, your dad should be here soon."

The key on the lock turns and in walks Brandon.

"Sooo lets get this show on the road shall we" he takes a seat opposite us and i get up and walk in the kitchen to get dinner ready.
