Craving

Chapter 12

Not good, not good, was all I could think of as i walked in to the hotel 15 minuets late.
"Really..?after your last warning you come in late again. And why the hell aren't you answering your phone" Adam was questioning me as soon as i got to the desk.
" sorry.i couldn't sleep all night and when I finally fell asleep I overslept " i begged him to be quiet.
" if you lose this job what will you do ness, come on wake up a bit early will you" he begged me. I know he means well. And i was going to come earlier than usual but i cant believe I overslept.
" Mr Samuel called and asked me where you were. I told him you went to hand over the register"
"And you had left your card at the desk yesterday so I managed to clock you in" he added smiling
" you owe me my boo" he said again pinching both my cheeks like a kid.
"Thank you my Adam. You know your the love of my life and I'll do anything for you right" I said giving him a hug and peck on his cheek.
" what the hell is going on" boomed a voice. And it sounded angry. We both turn around surprised. Mr Mathews was looking at Adam like he wanted to murder him. I jumped to the rescue.
"What happened Mr Mathews.?" I asked panicking.
"Thats what i like to know " he said
" Are you two dating?" He looked at each of us. I was about to deny it when Adam answered.
" yes im sorry sir. I didn't know it was not allowed" Mr Mathews cleared his throat and looked at me.  And i smiled not wanting to tell on my friend.
" if you are keep it to yourself not flaunt it in front of my hotel" he said and left.
"What the hell" i asked with wide eyes at Adam.
" Don't you see what just happened " he asked. H
"He saw us earlier and maybe when you were kissing and hugging me he misunderstood for us dating" he said with a wide grin.
" what. Oh no. Why did you say we are then"
"He was so jealous. Did you see his face. I did it for you ness. At least till we know about him more just keep it like that ok.." he said looking straight at me with a pointed finger.
" I guess your right. Its better not to get involved in anything right now" i say and turn to work.

Most of the guests who had come for the weekend was checking out today and we are gonna be busy.
I didn't see Mr. Mathews the whole morning after that. By lunch ms swan called and asked if I would have lunch with her. Adam and i never get to have lunch together,we always take turns. So it was nice to have someone to share it with.

I headed down to the restaurant when I spotted ms swan near a table in a corner.
"Its nice to have lunch with someone than alone she said " and headed towards the brightly displayed variety of food.  We started serving when someone stood behind us. Ms swan turned and smiled.
" sir please you go on ahead." She said and stepped aside for him ti go first. But he refused
" thats fine" He said standing his ground behind us. She nodded and continued.
" I wanted to check the food we are serving today." He said following right behind. I silently continue not wanting to interrupt.
We went back to a table and sat down. Mr Mathews followed behind.
" sir you shouldn't be sitting with the help"
" why.? Do you want me to eat alone" he asked pretending to be hurt.
"No don't be ridiculous thats not what I mean." She says smiling.
"Nessa why are you so quiet " he asked after taking a bite of the food he served.
" I thought you will be eating with your boyfriend " he said with a smirk.
" boyfriend..? What boyfriend " ms swan asked suddenly.
Mr Mathews nodded towards me and said
"her boyfriend"
"Who is this young man ness" she asked surprisingly.
"Oh didn't you know the boy thats with her in the front desk"
"Adam.?" Ms swan choked out With laughter. While Mr Mathews looked with a raised eyebrow at ms swan.
"Oh thats cant be right " she said when i looked at her and shook my head hoping she will get the hint. She looked back surprised.
" or maybe anything is possible " with nod. Mr. Mathews was about to say something when in walked Julie in all her glory.
"Sebastian. I have been looking all over for you. even your secretary wasn't there." She stopped when she saw who was around him.
"Oh your here too" she said.
" Julie I thought all the guests had already left" said Mr. Mathews with a frown.
" oh Sebastian. Im staying on for a few more days" she purred.
" this place is simply amazing. And i need a break from reality " she said again. And I snorted not knowing i did it too loud   Everyone turned to look at me. I feel like this would be a great time for the ground to open up and swallow me whole. I saw a smile spread across Mr Mathews face from the corner of my eye.
"Well as you can see I'm having lunch. Your welcome to join us." He said
" oh please. I lost my appetite " she said while shooting daggers with her eyes at me.
"Call me when your done" she said and slithered away.

" nessa is she the only one remaining or do i have more surprises waiting for me in every corner.?"  I shook my head and stood up not quite finished with my lunch. But suddenly I didn't feel hungry anymore.
" I should go. Adam was saying he was very hungry. " I said and rushed off before anyone can say anything more.

" hey, im done. You can go now" I said taking a seat next to him.
" are you alright " he asked me
" yeah." I sigh.
" lets meet after work somewhere " Adam said heading off.
I sigh again. What's wrong with me. Why am feeling like this. Its no big deal. He can never be for me.
