A/N: Hey guys, what's up? So I got this interesting idea today, and it was a Fallout 4 AU for DBH. Since in the Fallout canon, some of the vaults were used for experiments and such, they wanted to see how a bunch of androids would fare in a vault by themselves, with no human interaction. The Android revolution already happened, and there was some crazy bomb shit goin' on, idfk. So, it's basically Fallout x DBH. You were a vault dweller but got sent out into the world, and you happen to come across different vaults on your way. Also, no one is allowed to hurt me about Fallout lore, I'm trying to make this all fit into one world, so I'm gonna say there were multiple Vaults doing cryogenics to make it work. Also, they're all called synths instead of androids. They're the same exact thing, I looked it up.

The video above is the Diamond City Radio, which you can listen to in the background if you want to.

Enjoy!

The sun was beating down on the dusty wasteland, Radstags sprinting across the empty fields, and radioactive plants and trees were settled in their places. You readjust your gas-mask that was strapped to your face and play around with settings on your Pip-Boy. The music from your Pip-Boy was charming and was one of the only reasons you kept it on, other than the crushing lonely silence coming from the Commonwealth. Gripping your Gatling Laser, you approach a vault.

Vault 78.

You remember hearing something about this vault being fully operational but full of synths. Interesting. You could definitely raid this place, and sell their parts and belongings for mad stacks of caps. Walking into the main entrance of the vault, you plug in your Pip-Boy, and hit the large red button, waiting for a response. You remove your gas mask, and a voice comes on the intercom. "Hold it right there. Vault 78 security. I don't know where you got your hands on a working Pip-Boy, but you better start talking." The voice echoed throughout the cave, and you only gave a smug look they couldn't even see. "I got it in Vault 111. It's mine." "Vault 111? Haven't heard of that one yet. And what sort of business are you looking forward to taking care of in 78?" They sounded confused at first but tried to cover it up with non-belief. "I'm just a traveler, I was wanting to take a look around, chill." Surprisingly they haven't stopped talking to you yet. And hopefully, they didn't until they let you in. "Is that so? And you expect me to believe that- Oh, Overseer." A female voice interrupted and started talking. "Who is it, Edwards?" There was a pause in the dialogue. You leaned on the console, bored and impatient. "Ma'am. Some new Commonwealth traveler. Not one of our usual traders." The male sounded uncomfortable speaking to this 'Overseer' person. "Well, if they want in, they have to earn it like everyone else. Let me speak to them." There were almost inaudible footsteps, and she cleared her throat. "Sorry about that. Officer Edwards was just doing his job. I'm sure you can understand our need for caution." You let out a small chuckle. "Yes, I can see why you have to be so careful. With the raiders and mercenaries out there, you can never be too careful. "For newcomers, we operate on exchange. You help us, we help you." Exchange?! You thought. You calmly exhaled and responded. "I'm interested. What do you need?" There was another pause before you heard some talking you couldn't really make out. "Fusion Cores. 3 of them to be exact. You get the Fusion Cores, we grant the access." You actually had some spare Fusion Cores from looting abandoned suits of Power Armor, and you had a few you could spare. "I actually already have some you can have." She made a noise in shock. "R-really? Well, I suppose I should say, "Welcome". I'll be down to meet you at the entrance." You fist pumped the air, as the room started to shake around you. The large vault shaped door opened, revealing synths in lab coats, and blue & yellow jump-suits. You saw a female and a male talking, and then she saw you. "Sorry about that, as you soon will see we have a few maintenance projects underway. I'm Kara, the Overseer here. Welcome to Vault 78." She walked away, leaving you to explore by yourself.

Walking through corridors, and peeking your head into some rooms, you noticed there wasn't really anything of value here. The synths were extremely nice to you, and that made you extremely guilty for wanting to murder them in the first place. You were then approached by a male synth. He was wearing the traditional blue & yellow jump-suit, he was tall, had brown hair, and brown eyes. His chest was broad, and his face was extremely symmetrical, other than the tuft of hair that fell onto his forehead. "Hello. Welcome to Vault 78. My name is Connor, can I help you find anything?" You shook your head no. "Not really. I gave myself a small tour. I hope that was okay." A rose color settled on your cheeks. "Ah, that's fine. If it's not too much to ask of you, would you mind telling me what the Commonwealth has become? I haven't left since they put us in here, and I was hoping to hear some stories from you." He smiled at you sweetly, and you just couldn't refuse him.

You told him about times you've almost died, whether it be from raiders or Deathclaws, about Diamond City, and about Sanctuary. It used to be a neighborhood, but now it's the home of the Minutemen, a group dedicated to the defense of human beings in the Commonwealth. He was listening to your every word, and eventually asked one question that got you.

"Can I come with you when you leave? Please?"
