There were flower petals everywhere, and wilting flowers everywhere you looked. You had always been interested in gardening and mainly just flowers in general. How they looked, how they smelled, how the petals felt soft every time you'd touch them.
So you took up minor gardening and bought many different types of flowers, although you weren't really quite sure what type would be appropriate for someone just starting out, you would try anyway.
Walking home from a local store you went to to get another set of flowers, where you would start the same process all over again, you stopped in front of an old and abandoned house.
"God, I should've brought a wagon or something," (Y/N) groaned, the plants actually being slightly heavier than she thought they would be. "I need to readjust myself, or I'll never make it back without dropping at least one of these." She grumbled. The gate leading to the abandoned house was opened, and she thought she would step in, fix her problem, then leave. And she did just that.
Setting the flowers on a molding and decaying wooden table, she could've sworn she heard something behind her. "It's just my imagination. I'm way too excited to be getting flowers, so it must be that." Picking up one pot in her arms, she tried to figure out how she would get 3 of them home, while still being mildly comfortable. At least she was thinking until she heard noises again. Turning around, she came face to face with the sharp point of a knife.
"You've come to hurt Ralph, haven't you? Ralph doesn't like visitors! Especially when they are in his home!" There was an android at the other end of the knife, and he didn't look in very good shape. He had what to be large burn scars on the left side of his face, thirium leaking out of each scratch on his face.
Although she had to admit, he was kinda cute.
She almost dropped the pot in her arms when she, for some reason, held to the pot out to him.
"I-I don't want to hurt you, and I don't have anything on me that'd be worth your while! Please just d-don't hurt me, I swear I'll leave!" He lowered his knife a bit and looked at the flower. It was a pink orchid, with many different shades of pinks swirling around the petals in different designs. He lowered the knife a bit more and took a small step forward. "So you don't want to hurt Ralph?" He asked cautiously. The female quickly nodded, still in shock of him threatening her with a knife. "But how do Ralph know he can trust you? You will just treat Ralph like all of the other humans did!" He turned his head to the right, and you could now get a better look at the damaged side of his face. It was indeed burnt, and he was damaged in a few other places too, but he then turned to look back at the female. He started shaking ever so slightly. "I..." She started. She swallowed the saliva in her mouth, preparing for the outcome of whatever would happen after she said her next words. "I could help you. And... Ralph, right? I won't hurt you. I would never." She lowered the plant slowly, yet cautiously, to not startle the android more than he already was. "I would never hurt an android. Not on purpose, anyway." She held the plant out again, almost as a peace offering. "But if you still want me to leave, I will. But take this too. orchids are one of my favorite type of flower, but I think you should have it." She looked at him with concerned eyes. "After all you have been through, Ralph, I think you deserve some happiness right now." She slowly turned around, and placed the flower pot on the table, but not before she heard a metal clatter on the floor, and was hugged from behind.
"Please don't leave. You are the only kind human Ralph has met in a very long time." He held her tighter, burying his face in the back of her shoulder. "O-of course, Ralph. But, would you be willing to come with me? To my house, I mean." Her words were genuine and warm. This honestly was the best offer Ralph has gotten in a while. "I can fix you if you'd like, and get you new clothes." He lifted his head up and rested it on her shoulder. "Ralph would like that very much." He smiled and slightly nodded his head. "Ralph would like that a lot. Thank you human! You have been very kind to Ralph, and now Ralph will return the favor!" He pulled away, and headed for the table, picking up two of the pots. He had the cutest smile on his face, and wide doe eyes full of excitement and hope. "Alright, let's go. But we have to be sneaky about it since I don't technically own you. And it might look like that I beat you... Ah!" She realized there was something of a hood on his makeshift shawl, and pulled it over his head. "And since it's darker out, there shouldn't be many people, but let's keep it up just in case." He nodded and followed the female out the door. Ralph felt happy for a time in his life. He felt accepted by someone. He felt...
Loved.
For the first time in his life.
And it felt nice.
