He finally did it. He finally fell from heaven. Colby looked at his wings as each feather quickly turned black but he didn't care. His wings had turned black because he had broken one of the rules, falling for a human. Colby hid his wings as he walked towards the abandoned building that Sam was exploring. Angels have the ability to make their wings disappear so that they may walk among us without a panic. Sam was walking on the third floor, leaning on the railings. All of a sudden the railings gave way and Sam fell. "I got you!" Colby shouted as he grabbed Sam's wrist. "Give me your other hand!" Colby shouted and Sam responded by grabbing Colby's hand with his other hand. Colby pulled Sam up before they both tripped and fell onto their backs panting.
"Thanks dude. I owe you one and by one I mean my life." Sam thanked Colby as he sat up.
"You're welcome." Colby chuckled as he sat up as well.
"I'm Sam, it's nice to meet ya." Sam said as he held out his hand and smiled. Colby looked up and stared into Sam's eyes as he smiled too.
"I kno- I mean, I'm Colby. It's nice to meet you too." Colby smiled as he shook Sam's hand. Sam stood up before he held out his hand so he could help Colby up. He pulled Colby up before they started walking together. "So, you like exploring?" Sam asked, wanting to know more about this mysterious boy that had save him.
"Well actually, this is my first time exploring." Colby replied. "What about you?" Colby already knew the answer because he had been watching over Sam for most of his life but he wanted to look normal.
"Yeah! I go to places like this all the time! You should come with me, maybe save my clumsy ass a few more times?" Sam joked which made both of them giggle.
"I would actually really like that." Colby replied which made them both smile.
"Great! I've been looking for a partner in crime!"
"Crime!" Colby shouted, not understanding the phrase.
"It's just a phrase dude! Chill." Sam laughed which made Colby laugh too. The boys finally walked out of the building. They made their way back to Sam's car before Sam turned to Colby. "I forgot to ask, what's you phone number?" Sam asked.
"I don't have a phone." Colby replied, feeling pretty awkward in the situation he was in.
"Oh, uh what about home address?" Sam asked which made Colby look down.
"I don't have one of those either." Colby replied, still looking down at his feet.
"You're homeless?" Sam asked, a frown appearing on his face.
"Yeah, I guess I am." Colby mumbled, sad that he couldn't ever go home.
"Your parents kick you out?" Sam asked.
"I guess you could say that." Colby said finally looking up.
"Get in." Sam said as he hopped into his car. Colby did what he was told. He trusted Sam because he had watched him grow up and he knew that Sam was a kind soul.
"Where are we going?" Colby asked as Sam started driving.
"Home."
