They had been driving in complete silence. Sam was busy concentrating on the road and Colby felt too awkward so he didn't say a word. Eventually they pulled into the driveway of a mansion. Sam parked the car and jumped out and Colby followed. "This is my home. I live here with a few of my friends and we have a spare bedroom. I wondered if you would like to stay with us? After all, you did save my life today." Sam giggled as Colby looked at the house with a smile on his face.
"I think I will take you up on that offer." Colby replied which made Sam smile.
"Great! Let's go introduce you to everyone!" Sam giggled, excitement written all over his face as he grabbed Colby's hand and lead him into the house. The sounds of laughter emerged from the game room as the walked into the house and shut the front door. "Follow me!" Sam smiled as he walked in front of Colby. They walked into the game room, seeing Corey and Devyn snuggled up on the love sack and Jake and Aaron on the sofa with controllers in their hands. Non of them took their eyes off of the tv screens as Sam and Colby walked into the room. "Hey guys!" Sam said cheerfully with a massive smile.
"Hey Sam." They all said in unison, not one of them taking their eyes off of the screens.
"Do you mind if my friend moves into the spare bedroom?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, that's fine. Introduce them when they get here." Corey said in a trance because of the tv.
"Actually, he's right here." Sam informed them with a little giggle. They all snapped out of their trances as they turned to look at Colby before they all jumped onto their feet and rushed over to introduce themselves.
"Hi, I'm Corey and this is my girlfriend Devyn," Corey informed with his arm around Devyn's shoulders. "And that's Jake and Aaron." Corey continued as he pointed to Jake and Aaron, who simply waved.
"Hi, I'm Colby." Colby smiled, waving slightly. Colby never like being centre of attention. He always preferred to sit in a corner and observe instead of joining in.
"So, where'd you come from Colby?" Devyn asked which flustered Colby, he couldn't exactly say heaven.
"Um, I never stayed in a place long enough to call it home." Colby sighed in relief because he was able to at least come up with a half decent answer.
"Well, it's really late so I'm gonna show Colby his room and then I'm going to bed. Night guys!" Sam said as he pulled Colby by the wrist upstairs, wanting to get both of them out of the awkward situation. Sam lead Colby to the spare room and switched on the light. The walls were white and there was just a double bed in the corner.
"So, I guess this is your room now." Sam smiled. "You can decorate it how ever you want. I'm just across the hall if you need me but for now I think we should both get some sleep. Oh, and tomorrow we can go to the store to get some stuff for your room. Sound good?" Sam suggested.
"Ok. Thank you Sam." Colby yawned, living on earth was exhausting.
"Goodnight then!" Sam smiled before he walked across the hall, opening the door to his room.
"Sam?" Colby asked
"Yeah Colby?" Sam turned around, giving a soft smile.
"Thanks." The look on Colby's face gave Sam all the thanks he needed.
"You're welcome Colby." Sam responded before he walked into his room and closed his door.
