Sam finally decided to walk back. After all the sun was starting to rise. He thought about Colby a lot as he was walking and the more he thought about him, the less angry he became. When he reached the house he was no longer angry at Colby because he had thought it through. Yes, he did keep a secret from him but it wasn't meant in a nasty way and on top of that Colby did save Sam on two separate occasions. Sam walked into the house, determined to apologise to Colby. He heard laughter emerging from the games room. "Have you been playing fortnite all night, again?" Sam sighed with a slight chuckle.
"Uh huh." Aaron replied. All of the boys had their eyes glued to the tv screens.
"Where's Colby?" Sam asked as he leaned against the wall.
"Haven't... seen him." Corey barely replied, too focused on the game. 'Maybe they were too focused on the game to notice him walk in?' Sam thought to himself as he walked to the stairs. He walked upstairs and towards Colby's room as he thought about what he should say or to be more accurate, how to apologise. He walked up to Colby's room and knocked, hearing no answer. He opened the door to find an empty room. Panic rose in Sam as he thought that Colby had run off. He turned around and started to head down the hallway until he heard a sniffle coming from his room. Sam walked into his room to find Colby curled up in his bed. He smiled until he got closer and realised Colby was ill. "Colby?" Sam whimpered as he sat on the bed, next to Colby. Colby couldn't respond though. All Colby could do was tremble and give the occasional whimper. As I said before, emotions have a much stronger effect on angels than on us. Colby was in this state because he thought Sam didn't want him. He thought that he had lost Sam. Sam got increasingly worried as Colby did not respond to his pleads. Sam placed the back of his hand on Colby's forehead to feel that Colby was burning up. "Colby, please wake up." Sam begged as tears started to fall from his eyes. "Colby, I don't know what to do, you have to tell me what to do!" Sam cried as he pulled Colby onto his lap. Sam felt like a child, not knowing what to do. "Colby, please. I'm sorry. I'm so so so sorry." Sam cried as he pulled him onto his chest and rested his head in the crook of Colby's neck. He couldn't exactly take him to the hospital. What if they found out he wasn't human? What if they took him away and did experiments on him? Those two questions filled Sam's head as he rocked back and forth, regretting ever shouting at or leaving his friend. "This is my fault... I'm sorry.... I'm sorry." Sam whimpered over and over again with his head still in the crook of his friends neck. Sam jumped and looked at his friend as he felt a hand reach up and play with his hair.
"It's ok Sammy." Those words took all of the strength Colby had but he felt like he needed to say them.
"Colby!" Sam smiled as he hugged him tighter. He loosened his grip again so he could look at Colby. "What do I do? Do I take you to the hospital? Is there something else? You have to tell me what to do and I'll do it." Sam whimpered. Colby smiled as he placed his hand on Sam's cheek. "Why are you smiling Colbs? T-this is serious." Sam stuttered, tears still falling from his eyes.
"Because you're all I need." Colby whispered as he continued to smile softly.
"B-but you ill! Don't you need medicine o-or something?" Sam stuttered once again. Colby barely sat up and Sam supportered his back. "Colbs, What are you doing?" Sam asked in a worried voice.
"I'm giving you an explanation." Colby sighed. It was talking all of his strength not to fall over.
"Colby, lie back down!" Sam demanded as Colby looked up.
"No more lies, no more evading the truth. I'm going to tell you everything." Colby sighed, ignoring his friend's advice.
"Okay. I'm listening." Sam sighed.
"I am an angel or to be more correct a fallen angel." Colby started.
"What's a fallen angel?" Sam asked.
"A fallen angel is basically an angel that has broken the rules and has been cast out of heaven, forced to live the rest of their lives on earth as a mortal." Colby explained.
"They cast you out because you loved someone?" Sam asked.
"To be more exact, I loved- I mean love a human and how did you know that?" Colby asked
"I pieced it together from when you said you're parents kicked you for loving someone." Sam responded.
"And that person that I love... is you, Sammy." Colby whimpered as he looked down, waiting for his response. He wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do but he was done lying to the one he loved.
"Colby?" Sam whispered as he pulled up his chin so that they were looking into each other's eyes. Sam was blushing as he leaned closer. "I love you too." He whispered as he leaned closer.
"Wait! You- you love me too?" Colby stuttered. Sam hummed and nodded his head yes in response as he continued to lean in. Colby smiled as they closed the gap between them. Their soft, pink lips smashed into each other's. Their kiss was full of love and passion. Sam and Colby saw fireworks going off whilst they were kissing. Finally they pulled away and looked into each other's eye as they panted and smiled. Everything was good until Colby lost his smile and went pale.
"Colby?" Sam whispered as he cupped his cheek. Not a moment later Colby fainted, falling off the bed and onto the floor. "Colby!" Sam screamed as he jumped off of the bed and knelt down next to Colby, who was unconscious. "Colby? Colby!" Sam screamed as he pulled him into his lap. Sam's cries caught the roommates attentions. They ran into the room and surrounded them.
"Dude, What happened?" Corey asked as he knelt down beside them.
"He wasn't feeling well and he just collapsed." Sam replied as tears started forming in his eyes.
"We need to get him to a hospital." Jake exclaimed. Sam didn't know what do. Should he take him to the hospital? Or should he take care of him himself? What if they realised he was different? What if they took him away and experimented on him? Corey started to pick Colby up.
"No!" Sam shouted as he took Colby off of him.
"Sam, he needs help." Corey argued as Sam placed Colby on his bed.
"And I'll help him. I'll take care of him." Sam said as he turned around to look at them.
"Sam-"
"No! He'll be ok. I'll take care of him." Sam mumbled.
"Okay. We'll leave you too it. Shout us if you need anything." Aaron said as he pushed the other two out the room. Aaron shut the door behind him as Sam turned back to Colby. Sam pulled the covers over him before he swept the hair out of his face.
"I'll look after you colbs." He whispered before he left so he could go get some medicine from the pharmacy.
