"Mom! Mom! I got accepted into Preston High!" I run downstairs with excitement to the kitchen where my mom is preparing dinner.

"Oh my god, sweetie. Really?!" I nod my head vigorously with a huge smile on my plump face that's framed by my brown curls, my eyes glistening brightly. "Oh, I'm so happy for you! I knew you would get in!" She hugs me and kisses me tediously.

I laugh. "Geez, mom. I get it. You can stop now."

"I'm just so proud of you. All of your hard work has finally gotten you into your dream school! Wait till your dad hears about this." As she says that, my dad comes back from work and walks into the kitchen with his coat in his hands.

"Hear about what, Michelle?" He lays his coat onto a chair, comes to me with a smile on his face, and cups my face with both his hands. "Hello, my little hard worker. What's going on here? What is mom talking about?" I wave the acceptance letter in front of his face. "What?! No way! You got accepted to Preston High?!" he questions with a shocked expression on his face.

"That's right, Logan, and she did it by working hard every day." My dad hugs me so tight that I feel like my skeleton will slip right out of my body.

"What's all the ruckus in here about?" My brother walks into the kitchen scratching his head.

"Your sister just got into her dream school!" my parents reply at the same time.

We all laugh at their good timing. "Well, that's absolutely great, Vi. I'm happy for you, but mom, where's dinner? I'm hungry."

"Oh right, I'll quickly finish cooking. Owen, help your sister set up the table." He groans.

"Owen, it's a special night for your sister. Just help her," my dad says sternly.

He sighs. "Fine. Vi, you can wipe down the table, I'll get the dishes." I send an 'Okay' to him and get the table rag then start wiping down our dinner table. We have a vivacious and delicious dinner before going to bed.

"Guess what, Violet?" My mom enters the room with a smile on her face.

"What, mom?"

She sits on my bed. "I got us concert tickets to your favorite boy band, BTS!" She shows me the tickets.

"WHAT?! SHUT UP!" I squeal with joy whilst jumping on my bed. "No way! Oh my God, thank you so much, mom! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I hug her tightly, and we both giggle.

"Okay, I know you're excited, but if you don't get some sleep, you won't be able to keep your eyes open through the whole concert so get some sleep," she says, petting my head.

"Okay! Night, mom." I slip in between the blanket and the mattress, ready to sleep.

"Goodnight, Violet." She kisses me on the forehead then turns off the lights and leaves.

The next day, I wake up very early and wear my BTS, fangirl merchandise downstairs to breakfast. My mom is flipping pancakes on the stove, and the whole house is filled with the sweet aroma of maple syrup on freshly made, hot pancakes. "Looks like someone's up early. I wasn't going to wake you up until half an hour later." My mom smiles then resumes to making pancakes. My dad's sipping coffee in his mug and reading the newspapers, and my brother is playing a game on his phone, waiting for breakfast.

"I was too excited to sleep for any longer! I still can't believe we're going to a BTS concert!"

"Well, you better believe it, Violet, because I bought it with my money. You deserved it for working so hard every day," my dad replies.

"Thank you, dad! Is everybody going?" My mom sets a plate of pancakes in front of me. "Mmm! This smells divine!" I dig into it.

"No, Owen is not going with us," my mom replies to my question. "Your dad is coming with us because he is intrigued." She sighs.
