Another flare lights up in my heart when I turn my head to see Taemin walking away without any regrets.
I sigh loudly, already scolding myself for the thoughts that are about to cross my mind.
I know I'm a girl... Society always looks down on me. I shouldn't be thinking such horrible things about someone. I shouldn't use my powers against someone older than me — someone who I owe respect to. Especially not a man. But my head isn't thinking straight anymore and all I want to do is teach him a lesson. And so I squint my eyes and channel all of my energy into only one thing. My hands come forwards in front of me, aiming at Taemin's body, every ounce of power within my soul pushing up against my palms.
I suddenly see him stop walking and a light smirk curls up on the corner of my mouth. His body begins to get dragged towards me, his arms desperately swinging around as he tries to comprehend what's happening.
I squint my eyes further more and clench my fists together to bring him even closer. When he's finally a few meters away from me, I blink and let both my arms and my energy fall down.
He falls on his butt, cursing underneath his breath, before looking up at me.
"What the hell just happened? Did you do this?" he widens his eyes when he sees me smiling toothlessly. I nod twice and plunge my hands in my front pockets, proud of my accomplishment.
"It's fantastic to have access to over 10% of your cerebral capacities, huh?" I kneel in front of him and lift his chin to make him look into my eyes. "Now you're going to help him." I feel my pupils dilating, captivating his gaze into mine, almost like compulsion.
"Yah... do you really think you can mind control me or some shit?" he speaks up, his facial expression remaining totally unimpressed. I raise my eyebrows in shock and back away from him, still not quite comprehending what just happened.
It... didn't work?
Taemin stands up in front of me, leaving me alone with my thoughts, and walks over to Jimin. He bends down and wraps Jimin's arm around his neck to help him up. Although he is being quite rough and pitiless, he still decides to give the man a hand. Together, they walk back to where I was kneeling, the sound of the snow crunching under their feet.
That's odd.
Scientists always say that you need to have access to over 20% of your cerebral capacities to be able to read other people's mind and move unanimated objects around you. Even if I have access to 25%, I was still unsure about my ability to succeed. Only because one of the people whom I had seen online had access to 75% and still had his brain shut off permanently after trying telepathic control.
