Taehyung's POV

I stir softly in my sleep, squishing the pillow a little harder in my arms, but I'm taken aback when the pillow suddenly wiggles and groans. With eyes half-open, I prop myself on my elbows only to realize that what I thought was a pillow is actually my cute little Nana fast asleep.

I take a minute or two to scrutinize her sleeping figure, grinning for the whole world to see, before deciding to plunge my hand under the straw to retrieve a leather covered book.

Flipping through the pages marked in her handwriting has become a habit for me. It's pretty easy to get to the diary itself; so I don't stop myself.

Every day, when she's sound asleep, I sit down next to her and read a page or two. It makes me smile, knowing how she feels about each and every situation we have to face.

But that is until I turn to a more recent page, and a small frown forms on my face. My fingers trace the ink, the words written down piercing me like a sword cuts through flesh.

Hoseok... has been through the same thing as me...

I shut the book close and arise on my feet, taking rather long steps as I step outside to meet the bright sun and a cold morning breeze.

I approach the campfire cautiously, which was already lit up, to find Hoseok preparing a generous breakfast for all. I walk up to him and take a seat on a log, my eyes not leaving the scars on his hands.

His eyes glance down to meet mine instantly, his hands slowing down their pace until they come to a complete stop.

"What?" his cold tone pierced through the quietness, making me shift uncomfortably on the piece of wood.

"Your scars..." my eyes trail up to his collarbone to notice a few cigarette burns. "Who did this to you?"

"My father, why?" his eyes are back on the food as he mixes some radish into the kimchi.

He's so nonchalant about this...

I lean forward, my elbows carefully resting on top of my knees, and eyeball him up and down.
