*MATURE CHAPTER BASICALLY ONLY*
Clover
My actions would have been considered wrong, but I had no choice. It was my ticket to the truth. My scheme started during dinner when I offered him a glass of juice. Apparently grape juice is good for your health. He accepted it with a smile, unaware that the juice was mixed with sleeping pills. Now he'd gone to bed an hour ago, saying he was tired. I led him to his bedroom with guilt gnawing inside. We nearly stumbled over a chair as he slumped forward.
Mia was staying over next door. To get a free house, I made up the excuse that she wanted to play with Jason.
Anxiously, I paced the hallway, finding the right moment to enter. My nerves got the best of me as I battled with them. I'd already battled with them while I spiked his drink. I was a horrible person, but the truth was too close to ignore.
With all strength I could muster, I tiptoed towards the bed. Logan slept peacefully on his back with the sheet tucked over his hips. My movements were hesitant as I crawled on top of him until I straddled his hips. I needed to check the scars, to see what could've caused them. I wasn't an expert of any sort, but I'd possibly be able to figure something out.
He stirred and my breathing quickened. Heart raced fast fast fast. But the closed lids indicated his deep sleep.
He's not going to wake up; you gave him the pills, my subconscious soothed.
I lifted the hem of his shirt, about to look under, when a hand clasped my wrist.
My worst fear had come alive.
"What are you doing?"
So much wrath in his tone at my current position. "I'm sorry, I..."
"You wanted to see it, huh? You wanted to know why I won't let you touch me? Am I right, Clover?"
"I'm so sorry, I didn't—I'll go." Shooting off him in a haste of panic and straight to the door. I was on and off him in the nick of time. Although I never reached my escape as I was shoved against the door.
His hand displayed by my head. "I didn't leave, or did I?"
"How long have you been awake?"
"Ignoring my questions and expect me to answer yours? Kind of unfair," he tsked.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, but you would not talk to me. There was no other way."
Logan chuckled darkly against my ear. "So, you thought drugging me was the option? I suggest you use a syringe next time, does the job quicker. If you are going to drug someone, then at least do it so the person doesn't know."
He knew? How the hell did he know?
"You knew? But you... you were so clumsy and tired."
"That was just an act, baby. I used to work as a police officer, have you forgotten? Plus, you made it so obvious with your pleading. I think I know what you want, the secret to me drinking that goddamn juice. You want a different kind of drink."
"Logan," I whispered, stammering slightly, "Why the act?"
"Because –" his lips hovered over the sensitive area on my neck, "then I could do what I have dreamed of for so long."
He means sex. He wants to have sex. Oh, boy.
But Margaret protested to it. If I did this, I'd definitely not have a backbone.
"No, we are not together."
The door slammed shut in my face again when I opened it. Shoving the key in the lock, he twisted it and then threw it across the room. "I'll take you right now whether you like it or not. You know why you won't do anything about it?"
