Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies

These chocolate peanut butter brownies are the perfect way to combine 2 things. A perfect combo of salty and sweet, plus a few peanut butter cups for decoration.

~Ingredients:

-Brownie Mix:

1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter, melted.

6 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder.

1 Cup Granulated Sugar.

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract.

2 Large Eggs.

1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour.

1/4 Teaspoon Salt.

-Peanut Butter Frosting:    

1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter, softened.

1/3 Cup Peanut Butter.*

1 1/2 - 2 Cups Powdered Sugar.

1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract.

1 - 2 Tablespoon Milk.

-Topping: 

Chopped Peanut Butter Cups.

  3 oz Chocolate (any kind).**  

~Directions:

~Making the Brownies:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Line a 8 inch by 8 inch pan with parchment paper or aluminium foil and grease lightly.

Step 2: In a medium bowl stir together the butter and cocoa powder.

Step 3Whisk in the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract.

Step 4Gently fold in the flour and salt.

Step 5Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 22 - 25 minutes, or until the top is set. Allow to cool.

~Making the Peanut Butter Frosting:   

Step 6In a medium bowl beat together the butter and the peanut butter.

Step 7Beat in the vanilla extract, then slowly beat in the powdered sugar.

Step 8: If it seems too thick, beat 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk.

~Making the Topping:   

Step 9Melt the chocolate in a microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each. Or in a saucepan over low heat, stirring often.

Step 10: Frost the cooled brownies. 

Step 11Sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups and drizzle with the melted chocolate. 

Step 12: Store the brownies at room temperature in an airtight container for 3 days, or in the fridge for 4 days.***

*We used smooth peanut butter but you can use any type of peanut butter (Crunchy, Smooth etc...)

**You can use chocolate chips, chocolate wafers, chocolate bars etc...

***Unfrosted brownies can be wrapped tightly and frozen. Thaw overnight in the fridge when ready to frost.
