Pari's POV:
I pack my bag for school and head downstairs for a quick snack. My mom most likely won't talk to me since she's still shaken up. Haru trailed behind me. The buckles and zippers on his jacket and pants made noise as he walked.
There wasn't much time left, so I reached and grabbed a container of pringles from the top of the refrigerator. I was about to leave the house but stopped and turned around. I looked at Haru up and down.
"What?" He asked.
"You can't follow me to school dressed like that. You'll draw attention to us."
"Draw attention?" He chuckled. "Just because I'm following you around school, I'll change into something 'normal'."
The clothes he had on morphed into a different outfit before my very eyes. He now had on a long black sweater with a white grid pattern and black joggers covered in chains. His gloves dissolved as well. He kept on his black combat boots.
"Better?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I guess it will do." I rolled my eyes and opened the door. "I always walk to school with my friend, Anya, so be cool."
"You worry too much, Pari." He smirked.
"I have a right too. Have you not seen yourself?"
To that he laughed. We began to walk to Anya's house. I ate my pringles on the way and had Haru try them. He thought they were okay tasting. He says he doesn't prefer to eat that much, but will for the sake of being around humans now that he's watching me.
We made it to Anya's house after a few minutes. I rang the doorbell and she came out. Anya gave me a hug but froze upon seeing Haru. Her face contorted into one of confusion.
"Who's your friend, Pari?" She asked nervously.
"This is Haru." I said.
"You're a new student?"
"Nah, I'm just going to be dropping by before school and during lunch." Haru grinned at her.
I rolled my eyes internally. I wonder if Hoseok is in the area. Anya isn't that close with him so I doubt it. I started to get worried when we approached school. Is Haru following me in school a good idea?
Haru stuck out like a sore thumb. Almost everyone was staring at him in bewilderment. I could hear their thoughts. All of them questioned who he was. Haru just ignored it and continued to walk beside me.
We met with the others in the art hallway as usual. The teachers here hate how loud we are in the morning. The boys had the same reaction as everyone else. Confusion.
"No sign of Hoseok." I whispered to Haru.
"I sense his presence in the school." He replied.
"If he comes here please don't do anything over the top."
"Over the top?" He scoffed. "You have such little faith in me, Pari."
"You are a demon."
Haru went silent at that. I introduced Haru to the boys who awkwardly greeted him. Haru just throws everyone off with his presence and vibe.
"Whoa, cool hair." Taehyung complimented as he touched the top of Haru's head.
There he goes not caring if the person he touches is a stranger. Tae is the most friendliest person I've ever met. Haru looked at Tae with the funniest look on his face. He was taken aback by how relaxed Tae was with him.
Haru took Taehyung's hand and slowly took it out of his hair, placing it at Taehyung's side. Anya and I were giggling at how funny and cute it looked.
"Thank you." Haru said. Suddenly, I saw Haru's body turned stiff before going relaxed again. I understood why when Hoseok's voice rang through the hallway.
"Hey guys." He greeted.
The boys and Anya said hi back. Jin was a little more hesitant to. He is probably still shocked about the information I gave him. Hoseok locked eyes with me and his face turned into a concerned one.
"Pari... Are you okay? I'm sorry about the way I-"
Haru swatted Hoseok's hand away when he reached for me. Haru glared at him with a stone face. Hoseok rubbed his hand that Haru touched.
"You have no need to touch Pari." Haru stated.
"I'm her boyfriend, I have every right to touch her." Hoseok retorted.
That didn't sit well with Haru. He smirked and grabbed Hoseok by the collar of his shirt. Hoseok's eyes turned black. He was franticly trying to pry Haru's hand off of him. In fact, it looked like that made it worse.
"How about we talk about this outside, Hoseok?" Haru smirked.
Hoseok could only nod and follow him outside. Haru kept a hold on his shirt collar.
Haru's POV:
I dragged the little nuisance outside near the ledge. Good thing the art hallway is on the second floor. I can throw Hoseok over the ledge if he pisses me off too much.
I enjoyed watching him struggle to get my hand off of him, only inflicting more pain on himself. I let go of him once we got to the ledge where there were no people. Hoseok began coughing and trying to catch his breath.
"Who the hell are you?" He asked.
"Someone you can't defy." I said with a smirk.
I love to intimidate people. I love the look of terror they have when they realize they can't touch me without hurting themselves. Yes, demons can't come in contact with me or else they burn themselves.
"Why are you around Pari?" He questioned.
"I'm her bodyguard, and you are not allowed around her." I answered.
"Bodyguard?" Hoseok laughed. "You must think I'm an idiot. There's no way she would hire a bodyguard, and even if she did it wouldn't be you."
"She didn't hire me. I was hired by someone else." There is no problem in giving him that information.
I know what to share and what not to. Mortals tend to gossip and spread rumors. They haven't changed at all.
"Stay away from Pari. You and Hongbin bring her nothing but trouble." I said sternly.
"I haven't brought her trouble at all." Hoseok argued.
Does he not remember that he has hurt her countless times? All Pari tries to do is help him but gets nothing in return. Hongbin? He is the reason why Hoseok is so screwed up in the head. He brainwashed Pari into believing he was kind. Then could have killed her when she broke up with him.
Wonwoo told me about the whole situation.
So many demons have their eyes on Pari ever since Hongbin took her to the club. Baekhyun spiked her drink with his blood and now demon blood is inside of her. There is still time to save Pari, but Hoseok is too far gone.
"I could go on all day about how you have caused Pari unwanted trouble. Listen to me and stay away or I'll hurt you in more ways then one." I smirked. "That is a fact."
I know I look like I have cruel intentions, but I care for Pari. Wonwoo hired me because he knows I can keep her safe. I just have to watch over her until Wonwoo finds a cure.
Maybe he will let me in after I finish this job.
