The feast was enormous. There was enough food to feed an army. Which was a good thing, because they technically were. There were so many people that only a few tables were present for the children, all the adults and teenagers just used their Aura to levitate their plates. Most just had to be careful not to overfill them, or such a task would be near impossible. However, the Aura Shinobi threw caution to the wind and pilled their plates high. Some of the elite warriors even competed to see how much they could lift.
Phil wandered through the event rather slowly, as almost everyone stopped to congratulate him. He was not a fan of all this attention. The teenager wished he could be alone for a minute, with just his friends. Alas, what tortures one must endure. As Phil neared one edge of the event, an Aura Guardian he did not recognize greeted him.
"Hey, Phil, I am Loklin, Alexander sent me to find you. He figured you want to get away."
"Thanks, let's go."
Phil followed Loklin into the forest. They trekked rapidly over miles of land, soon reaching a small clearing over a mile away. The hairs on the back of Phil's neck stood straight up, something was not right.
"Loklin, where are my friends?"
"Oh, they are still back at the village."
"Then why have you brought me here?"
"So we can capture you."
Just then three other figures emerged from the shadows. One Phil recognized instantly as Rego Vastator. Loklin became to difficult to see, as a dark smog surrounded him. To the Aura Shinobi's shock, Rego Fallacia was the one who stepped out.
Phil, for the first time in months, felt fear. If the other two lackeys were as powerful and Vastator and Fallacia, he was a dead man, especially without his protective jacket that contained most of his weapons. At least his dress uniform was not a stiff suit and had some flexibility to it.
"Allow me to introduce my colleagues," Fallacia said mockingly, "The big brute on the left is Rego Edomo, and the tall and lanky one is Rego Sicarius."
"Lords of subjugation and assassins. I assume you are here to kill me?" Phil calmly inquired.
"Good guess, but no," Sicarius replied, in a deep hissing voice, "The Father, for whatever reason, wanted us to capture you alive, this time. Although, he might just change his mind if you keep pestering us."
Phil reached to release his Pokemon, but upon clicking the button to release Blazer, he found the Pokeball was jammed.
"We have jammed all Pokeballs in the area. That is why our Pokemon are already out," Vastator sneered.
Phil imagined Vastator had some particular vendetta that made him hate Phil more than the other Regos. However, that did not make much sense so he quickly dismissed it, he had more important things, like the twenty or so Pokemon that emerged from the forest around him. The Aura Shinobi quickly drew his Aura Sword, the only weapon he had on him. The bright blue blade seemed to make the Dark Users do a double take, which gave Phil time to unleash a fireball that thunderously exploded high in the air. He just had to hold out until reinforcements arrived.
Back at the village, Alexander and the other Aura Users reacted rapidly to the distress flare. All running towards it. The Aura Shinobi quickly took the lead, leaving the others in the dust.
"Denny! That was from Phil! Do you think he is okay?" Racheal asked worriedly.
"I am sure he will be fine. He could probably fight an army and win."
Phil was rapidly discovering that fighting a small army of well trained Pokemon and four powerful Dark Users at once was a really bad idea. He rarely got an attack in, and was already covered in small wounds. To anyone outside the battle, even another Aura Guardian, he was a blur. Fallacia and Sicarius hit fast, but not all that hard, Vastator fought at a more balanced pace, and Edomo was slow to attack, but hit like a truck.
The Aura Shinobi grunted as someone's blade sliced his left thigh. Phil rolled away from the Dark Users and under several pointed stones from a Tyranitar's Stone Edge. He managed to quickly blast out a powerful wave of fire, knocking out a few Steel, Grass, and Bug type Pokemon. Two different Greninja countered to wave to keep it away from some other Pokemon that would have been weak to it. Then, as fast as lightning, each Greninja threw five water shuriken. He dodged a few of them, but two sliced deeply into his arms.
Finally, the Aura Shinobi arrived. All of the Dark Users returned their Pokemon and teleported away, except for Sicarius, who was tackled by several Shinobi and cuffed. Phil felt himself begin to fall, weary from blood loss. One of his peers caught him and laid him gently down.
Just before he fell unconscious, Phil heard a female voice cry out, "Phil!"
"Rachael?" he murmured as his eyes closed.
Rachael ran over to Phil and checked his pulse. She quickly pulled off his overcoat, and ripped it apart for bandages. She knew Phil was so weak that attempting to heal his wounds solely with Aura would have done more harm than good.
"Denny, will you get the wound on his leg?" Rachael breathless asked.
"Yeah, I got it."
Soon, Phil's wounds were covered, and had mostly stopped bleeding. Two Aura Guardians brought a stretcher from the village, and some Psychic types gently lifted Phil onto it so he could be carried home.
Rachael walked beside the stretcher, gently holding Phil's left hand, his right still clung to his weapon hilt. She acted almost as an IV tube, gently allowing small amounts of Aura into Phil's body, helping with the healing and holding off the pain.
One of the Shinobi walked over, "I recognize you, from my home village. Are you not Anakin's betrothed? What are you doing out here?"
Phil suddenly awoke, and weakly spoke, "Anakin? Where is the Rattata? He won't hurt you again."
"He is not here Phil, go back to sleep," Rachael whispered, gently trying to put him back to sleep with her Aura. The protective teenager tried to fight it, but quickly succumbed in his weakened state.
"I see, he plans to challenge..."
Rachael interrupted, "Bring him back to this world of pain with that name again and you will need a stretcher too."
The Aura Shinobi raised his hands in defeat and fell back. Rachael looked at Phil's peaceful face, he had done so much for her. Now, she could begin return the favor with her calming and healing touch.
