Break

________________________

They say it's not good to bottle things up all the time, for at some point, you're bound to burst. They say people can be depicted as bottled soda. They say excessive shaking increases pressure to the point of no return, and when the carbon dioxides couldn't take it anymore, the bottled soda burst.

Yet we all know that life is full of countless problems; tumultuous shakes are what we face every single day. It's the fact: life is the perfect setup to exacerbate our situation – to pressure us until we burst.

Lately, I've been thinking about it. And I've come to realize that that's not always the case. Some burst, but some just break.

Nothing gaudy. Nothing flashy. Nothing extravagant.

It takes a solid hit to the ground for some things to actually break. Yet a supposedly delicate object may hit the ground countless times without breaking, while a bulky object may break into smithereens the first time it fell.

It's true that a lot of factors are at play – cushions, quick reflexes, and even the very material of the particular object. Some things break when they've reached a point where they can no longer endure the pressure around them. Nevertheless, some things break simply when it's their time to break.

And it made me think again. Some burst, some break, but there are so many other outcomes. Some bend and some get stained. Some scarred and some marred. Some spoil and some fade away.

Sometimes you don't realize how many things have been building up within you until a seemingly simple problem hits and it becomes the last straw to the piñata that is you and boom you go. Sometimes when all the hurt and pain has taken its toll, you couldn't help but yield. Sometimes our minds are thicker than glycerin that it takes so long for realizations to sink in: that you're not invincible.

Our bodies need to take a break every once in a while so it doesn't break. But it's human for us to break, to burst, to adapt to life's mould. Even then, most of us are breaking, so handle yourselves with care ❤️

A/N: As there will only be one chapter left before I end Tall Tales for good, here's a little something to hold onto. I really do hope that my Tall Tales could resonate with at least some of you, be it the stories or the contemplation. It'd be rather nice to have somebody who feels the same way as I do, you know?

Post Scriptum

Just, let it sink, I guess... Take a break before you break.

Love eternally,
Caera Keane
