I burned the chapter of us,
Out of my Life.
And thought relief would come,
As I watched the ashes,
Fly Away.

But nothing changed,
So I put on my war paint.
And waited.
For the last bits of us,
To finally fade with the flames.

So as another wind blew,
To carry out the smoke,
Across our borders. Far Away.
I thought that's the end of it,
Only to find you back again.

Only for you to rise Once more.
Like the eternal bird you were,
Relentless like the Moon,
Pushing on Tidal waves,
Crashing to my shore.

So, Now you sit outside my window pane?
Waiting for me to let you in again?
Don't make that face, I've locked it up.
Go Fly Away.
Like you did. Without a trace.

Finally that we both know,
Who Lost whom, And who stayed Sane.
Now if my back is finally turned,
I guess I will burn Us up,
All over again.

For a thousand years of pain,
It's a gift. From me. Accept it.
All weeping Loss. There is no gain.
For you. But to my existence forever,
You are a stain,
That hasn't yet washed away.

Sometimes,
It drives us insane,
How reckless we become,
Killing ourselves for some,
.
But.
.
What's a Loved one,
Whom we don't hurt.
What's a Loved one,
We don't rip apart.

Deep in your heart,
You think I don't know,
About the shell you've put up.
About the Wall you've strengthened,
To Keep me out. To drive me away.
.
Pretending.
That My Words do nothing to You.
As if staying normal would change things.
As if acting strong would make it stop.
As if it'd Go Away.

Who the Fuck are you fooling.
My Friend? But your own self?
Go find a disposable shoulder.
For yourself to Cry.
Now I'm perched too high,
For you to reach.

So keep on deluding Yourself,
Not realizing both our losses.
While I burn our chapter,
With flames of my Own.
.
But darn these fake flames.
I know you'll come back,
.
One Darn Day.
.
I know you'll come back,
Like A firebird.
And Hit me Home.

I know, Baby.
.
One Darn Day.
You'll Hit me Home.
