____________________________

A White Wingspread Nightingale,
Flew off an Oak branch one day.
In Search of a Brown Barley Seed.
In Desperate times. In Desperate Need.

That along the course of it's flight,
It came across a Blackened Den.
And fell like a Rock on the Silver Roof.
A pearl on the Shore. A Whitewashed Gem.

_____________

A Grey, Saddened Wolf, One Day.
Was still ruffled on that Probing Thought.
Was still depressed on it's throbbing loss,
Deciding whether to Howl or not

That along the course of it's Decision,
It's Nose picked up a Newer Scent.
And his face fell upon the realization.
White and pale as a Ghost it went.

__________
The White, Downcast Nightingale,
Opened it's eyes to look around.
A strange place to Crash Indeed.
But stranger was the creature it found.

___________
The Grey, confused wolf that Day,
Came out to inspect the thudding fall.
And strolled slower as it saw the cause,
A Snow-White Bird lay beside the wall.

Mesmerized but Respectful, Still,
The Wolf asked if she was fine.
But his poor little heart shut off complete,
When the Nightingale opened Her Eyes.

Her face Brighter than the August Day,
More Beauteous than any Mind Perceived.
Interlaced with an Angelic Grace,
Her Eyes Greener than Moonlit Leaves.

Shattered inside, but with composed demeanor,
The Wolf asked again if she was fine.
And she spoke with that voice of Velvet Silk.
That Sound finer than the Finest Wine.

_______

And she said it's not her who was hurt,
But him who's heart was broken,
And so she told him she's here to stay,
And thus, through her eyes a Lie was spoken.

_

_____

And the Wolf laughed aloud and he,
Asked her the date on which she'd flee.
It's not the first time a bird here crashed,
Not the first time his heart was smashed.

But she fixated him with that Golden stare,
Tried her best to have his heart ensnared.
But his heart was not his to begin with.
It was given long ago to the robin he'd lived with.

And he really thought she was beautiful,
But to his First Love he was too dutiful,
And she seemed to grow more frustrated still,
She tried to change his mind. Tried to break his will.

She dreamt of his blue sky-lit sleeves,
And he of her eyes greener than mandrake leaves,
And he told her she was just sixteen.
Told her what she says she doesn't mean.

And the wolf knew from the start what was to come,
But oh so lonely he had become,
That he believed when she spoke those golden lies,
Straight through his marrow with her glacier eyes.

And soon came a day when she healed,
And from the blackened den she was freed,
And the wolf kept on howling over his heart she threw away.
Gazing in stillness as she flew away.

So the last pebble was dropped in the Auburn Bay,
With no more pebbles the Wolf couldn't stay,
So he sealed off his saddened Den,
And put up a sign that read "Stay Away"

_____
A White Wingspread Nightingale,
Never even looked back to say Goodbye,
So the Grey Saddened wolf that day,
Lay back down to sleep a while.

It's been a Sad Sad life,
And he's tired a bit,
So maybe for a little bit forever,
Maybe forever He'll sleep a while.
