05| Chapter Five
Definition of friendship......
"So how was church yesterday?" Stacie teased adjusting her bag
"Oh don't get me started Stacie it was terrible" Ellie replied shrieking in disgust. She had texted Stacie yesterday in the middle of the service when she couldn't take it anymore and Stacie laughed at her.
Ellie did not want to seem like a rebel and it wasn't like she didn't want to praise God or anything but her father pushed her too much, forcing her to attend every single service or program in church and it wasn't fair, she needed a life of her own she needed time for herself.
"Can't you em like tell your dad you don't want to go to church or you want to rest that you're tired or something like that?" Stacie asked cutting Ellie out of her thoughts.
"Oh trust me Stace if it were that easy I'd have done it a long time ago, I'd be six feet under even before I get the words out" Ellie said and Stacie stopped and turned to look at her.
"I know your family are going hard on you and you want nothing to do with any of this and trust me El you need to stand up for yourself or you will never have a voice of your own and if you ever feel like its too much and you can't do it anymore you can come to me, I'll tell my parents to talk to your dad or something just don't push yourself too hard I'll always be there for you" then she hugged her and patted her back
"Thank you Stace" and Ellie wrapped her arms all over her and hugged her back. There was something about Stacie that always seemed to comfort Ellie, it made her feel like she was not alone and made her feel safe, that was the definition of friendship or so she thought.
