Aries

After classes, Ophiuchus led us to the gym. He told us this would be our exercise time, with Coach Serpens.

I was pretty excited, to be honest. Gym was one of the few classes in school that I did good in, since I was pretty athletic.

"Hey, kids. The name's Coach Serpens, and I'll be your exercise director here. Today we're going to play a round of basketball, and I'll be putting you into two teams."

Basketball? I liked basketball. I was tall, and pretty fast fast, so basketball was naturally a good sport for me.

"Team A, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, and Cygnus. Team B, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Capricorn, Pisces, and Pyxis." Team A, here are your jerseys. Team B, you don't have any. He grabbed a handful of red jerseys, and tossed them to us. I caught mine and inspected it. It was pretty loose-fitting, but it didn't smell bad, like I expected to be.

"Now, Team A, you guys are on the left. Team B to the right. You have 5 minutes to discuss strategies, now go!" Serpens yelled, beckoning us off. Our team began to drift over to the left, no one really discussing about the game and just sort of staring off into space.

How did I end up with this bunch of nonathletic losers?

"Alright guys!" I shouted, getting their attention. I glanced over at the other team, they had all huddled into a circle and were talking.

"Now, had anyone played basketball here?" I asked, turning back to my team. Two boys, I think Gemini and Leo, raised their hands. "Alright, that's not bad." I said. "But you all know how to play, right?"

Nods all around.

"Okay, so you two-" I said, pointing at Gemini and Leo, "what positions did you play before?"

"Center." Leo said.

Gemini shrugged. "I played a lot of positions."

I nodded. "Alright. Then Leo, you play center. Gemini, you, ..." I looked at the other four on our team. Virgo was the tallest, Taurus was next, then Cygnus, and lastly Cancer. -Cygnus, and I will play offense. And you three-" I pointed at Taurus, Cancer, and Virgo- "can play defense. Alright?"

"Okay." Everyone said.

"Everyone, get ready to play!" Coach Serpens shouted, and we headed for the middle. Taurus, Cancer, and Virgo stayed back, while Leo stayed in the middle, and Gemini, Cygnus, and I flanking him.

I looked over at the other team. Scorpio was their center, with Libra, Aquarius, and Sagittarius playing offense and Capricorn, Pisces, and Pyxis on defense.

"And... go!" Serpens yelled, tossing the ball up. Everyone watched as the ball spiraled up, spinning in the air until it began to descend, and it almost seemed like time slowed as the two centers both jumped up, trying to reach the ball...

and Leo's hand clamped down on it, pulling it towards him.

Game on, team.

Leo slipped around Scorpio, who had tried to block him. He stopped, glanced around, and tossed it to me. I caught it easily, running up the court until someone darted in front of me, snatching the ball out of my hands.

I whirled around to see Pisces, running with the ball. Leo ran after him and managed cut him off, but Pisces had already tossed the ball to Scorpio. I ran after him, determined to get the ball back before the crossed the middle line.

No such luck. Scorpio ran to our defense, and passed it over to Sagittarius. Luckily, it was intercepted by Virgo. Virgo turned around, throwing the ball to Taurus, who caught it, and began running up the court.

However, Aquarius caught up to her, and attempted to take the ball away. Luckily, Taurus did a little spin and managed to toss the ball to Gemini, who began to run to the opposing team's hoop. Gemini weaved between Capricorn and Pyxis, blocking their attempts at getting the ball and...

Score! Two points for us!

Capricorn caught the rebound, and threw it to Scorpio. I ran in front of him, but he ducked under my outstretched arm and ran over to the other side of the court. Scorpio threw the ball to Libra, who just barely caught it. He managed to get around Taurus, but was blocked by Cancer. Libra turned around, throwing it to Aquarius. She managed to get it, then score a three-pointer. Virgo caught the ball, and passed it over to Leo. The game continued this way for some time, until finally the score was tied at 14 points, with two minutes left in the game.

The ball was currently in our possession, with Cygnus running down the court. She ducked under Scorpio's arm, spun around Pisces, but crashed into Pyxis. The two both fell, and the ball rolled over to Scorpio, who took it and began running towards our hoop. Oh no he didn't. I launched myself towards him, propelling in front of him, and skidded to a halt, effectively blocking him off. Scorpio shifted to the side, but I followed his movements. Suddenly, he charged forwards, and would've knocked me clean over if not for my outstretched foot.

Scorpio fell forwards, ball tumbling from his grip as gravity pulled him down. Right onto me, I may add. And suddenly, I was on the ground, with a black haired boy on top of me.

"Get off!" I yelled, shoving him to the side, and reaching for the ball, but it was too late. The ball bounced over to Sagittarius, and she picked it up, running towards our hoop. I gave Scorpio a glare, then ran after her.

Sagittarius tossed the ball to Aquarius, who ducked around Virgo, and threw the ball. It went sailing into the air, but suddenly, Taurus jumped up and slapped in back down.

The ball bounced towards the hoop, it's course a little offset from Cancer. Libra saw this as well, and both of them went for the ball, however, Libra managed to get there first and shot a layup, resulting in another two points for them.

SCREEEEEEEEEEECH

Serpens blew the whistle, and the game was over. I couldn't believe it. The ball was going to Cancer. She was closer. If she had gotten the ball, the game could've at least ended in a tie.

But now we lost.

I pulled off my jersey, throwing it at the bucket, and stormed over to Cancer.

"What the hell!? You couldn't gotten that. You had one job, idiot." I yelled. Cancer took a step back, turning her head away.

"Hey, leave her alone. It's just a game." Taurus said, coming up to us. She put a hand on Cancer's shoulder reassuringly.

I just let out a huff, and turned away.

Honestly, I feel like I should comment something. But I can't think of one, so yeah.
