Chapter 3. Exploring Glenroy.

"Dont you just love it?" Mums face was plastered to the house that stood before me. It was okay i guess. Iliked my old house better. The only differnece was that it was double story, so that made me feel a bit better. "It comes with two dining rooms, 3 lounge rooms, 4 bedrooms, a swimming pool... bla bla bla. Dad was ranting on about how much he loved it. "You even get your own bathroom kiddo!" i sighed. "Why do we need such a big house when there's only 3 people living in it?" Mum looked offended. "Love we put a lot of time in looking at all of the houses closest to your fathers work. This houe was even a miracle that we could find it!" I felt bad. I kissed Mum on the cheek. "And what a fine job you did." she smiled and shooed me inside to our new house.

I ran upstairs after exploring the rest of the house. I found the second master bedroom, the one with a bathroom. It was a tad bit bigger than my old room and plus it had a massive wardrobe! you could almost say it was a walk in wardrobe. i dumped my bag on my new bed and hurried down stairs with my new penny board. "Where you going hun?" Mum called after me."Oh.. just umm exploring the neighbour-hood and going down to the park around the corner, okay?" Mum rolled her eyes. "Be careful on that thing! you don't even know how to ride it properly. make sure you keep on the foot path and don't talk to any strangers." arghh "Yes Mum i'll be fine, and im still learning sheesh!"

I walked around the corner to the park. I didn't want to ride my board there, as the footpath ran downhill. I wanted to wait and teach myself at the small, quite park. " Perfect" i said to myself. It was Saturday morning and not a new face in sight, although i felt like i was being watched. I dropped my penny board to the ground and started teaching myself slowly. Ahhh this wasn't to hard at all! uh-oh... My shoelace that is usually tucked into my Vans slipped out and caught on the wheel of the board. "shit!" I fell flat on my palms and grazed my knee. Lucky no one saw. I was bleeding, and the graze stung badly. I pulled my penny board towards me and sat down on the parks curb. "You okay?" I looked up and saw a boys smiling face. Cute. I mean really cute! How embarassing! He must've seen me fall arrghh. "Umm yeah i'll be okay aha.." i blushed bright red. The boy sat down  next to me. "Here, this will only take a sec." He poured some water on my graze with a drink bottle and then pulled out a bandaid. "You carry bandaids around?" I aksed with a cheesey grin. "Yeah, just incase a beautiful girl like yourself decides too act blonde and use a penny board for the first time with out any help and then falls and hurts herself." He grinned. He called me beautiful?! "Ahh right.. wait you were watching me?" he looked down and fiddled with the bandaid warpper. "Umm well.. you know.. no one comes to the park this early in the morning so you kinda caught my eye.." Stupid Maddi! of course, how could i be so dumb. "Oh yeah.. right." I laughed as if i just had another blonde moment. "So... you're new here ayy? Iv'e never seen your pretty face around Glenory before?" I blushed. "Uhh yeah, Just got here today actually." He studied my face deeply, almost like he was trying to read me. "Im Luke by the way, Luke brooks." ahh so thats the mysterious boys name. "Cool, my names Madeliene.. wel Maddi hahaha." His mobile rung. "Call me maybe is your ringtone? really? HAHAHA." He chuckled "Arrghh my brothers always do that to me! hold on gotta take this. Hello?.... Yeah... Naar piss off you do it yourself! pfft, fine be right there." Luke sighed. "Every thing okay?" i asked. "Yeah, i have to fly. My brother Jai accidently let my dog Lala out. Sorry." I also felt the same as Luke... Annoyed that he had to leave in the middle of a cute convo. "No worries , I'd better be off anyway". I chuckled. "Hay, you wanna catch up tommorrow? i could teach you how to actually ride a penny board?" I laughed in agreement. "Yeah sure!" He had the goofiest grin spread across his face. "Great, same time, same place?" I nodded my head in agreement and watched after him as he walked home in the opposite direction. WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Did a really cute guy just ask me if i wanted a panny board tutour? Ahhhh! i guess there is always some good that comes out of the bad.

The Next Day...

I decided on telling Mum or Dad that i had made a new friend at the park. Mum wouldv'e been all up in my face saying se-e-e-e told you that you would make a new friend! I woke up in the shadows of tall towering boxes that are spread out in my room. I quikly unpacked all of my important stuff and got ready to once again meet Luke. I put on my Varsity Jacket, Vans and my New washed out shorts. I was hurrying down the stairs in no time. "Stop young lady, are you going out skateboarding again? Is that how you got that sore on your knee?" I rolled my eyes with attitude. "Yes, Mum but im getting good at it now. And no, that is not how i got a sore on my knee". I lied. "People fall over you know... sheesh." Mum giggled. "Alright, but be back by 12:00 just before lunch okay?" i nodded and was out the door.

I waited on the same curb that we had both met on, when our eyes first locked. I waited for about 20 minutes. He still didn't show. Maybe it was all just some joke. I sighed and as i was about to leave i see a familiar face walking towards me. "Hay!" He yelled out as he made his way over me. "So..Sorry..slept in..late...ahh...ohh..ho-w are... you?." I laughed. "Im doing fine, but you on the other hand need to catch your breathe." He winked at me. "Yeah for suresyzzz." He gasped. "So, you wanna learn how to really penny board?" He said snatching my board out of my hand. "Bring it." I laughed along with him. "Okay so first you gotta step ON the board okay?"I stuck my tongue out. "Jeez Luke i'm not 5 years old." i giggled. "Ok, ok then you will just have to trust me." i was confused. "Trust you?" He grinned wickedly and lifted me up on to the board with my back being infront of his chest. "you ready?" He grabbed my hand and rested his chin on my shoulder. "Lets do it." He pushed off wit his foot down the footpath. The rush was amazing but scary at the same time. i squeezed his hand tightly as he let out a small laugh. The ride sadly came to an end. "You did id Madds." Aww he even had a new nickname for me. "No, you mean you did it Lolz." He took of his snapback and placed it on my head. "nar, it was all you." 

We sat at a small green bench and started talking. "So what year you in?" he asked. "Ten". he smiled brightly "Ohh cool same here, your'e not going to Penola catholic hish school by any chance?" I cracked a smile. "Omg yeah i start tommorrow, you go there?" "Yeah! i go there like every day!" he laughed. cute joke i thought. "Unfortunatley that means you will have to see me more often then?" He said gazing. I went along with it. "Yeah to bad..." i laughed. we both laughed. "Ohh shit!, i needa be home for lunch! Cya tommorrow!" i darted home bwing welcomed by a nice warm meal. mmmm could life actually be any better?
