Narrator's POV

"They must be destroyed."

"How much time do we have?"

"They'll be ready at the end of the month.. that gives us three weeks."

"Why can't I go in an destroy them now?"

"Because you might miss a seed that has yet to sprout. In order to get every last plant, we must wait for the harvest."

"I don't get the big deal with these little plants, you guy act like it's a matter of life and death.."

"That's because it is.. These plants are going to change the world... For the worst."

The ice mage woke up with a start, a cool sheen of sweat slicking his back and forehead.
His breathing heavy, his mind clouded.

He took a quick glance around the room before sighing and returning to his recumbent position.

"End of the month?"

He took breaths, calming himself.

"End of the month."

He pulled a piece of the broken clip from his pocket.

"And what if I fail?"

His grip tightened.

"Then you'll never again be able to see your wife and da... Actually I'll keep that one a surprise."

The man slowly eased back into his dreamy state.

"Keep what a surprise? Do you know something I don't?"

His heavy breathing slowed.

"I know a lot of things you don't."

His grip on the artificial butterfly loosened.

"Why can't you just tell me?"

His thoughts began to fade.

"Because.. like a seed from the ground, it will be unexpected and a horrific surprise.." (sound familiar?? XD)

"That wasn't too bad, now was it, Gray.."
A voice whispered as they slowly backed away from his bedside, having collected the one thing they came for.

The blue haired mage snored, having fallen asleep at her desk, her hand the only thing holding her head off the cool wooden top.

There was a two knocks on the front door.
No reply.

"Yo! Answer the door!"

No reply.

The door bell rang multiple times.

No reply.

"I'm coming in!" The man announced as he kicked open the door.

The sudden noise made the lady jump, her face sliding off her hand and smacking into the table.
