AFTER Watching Miraculous

Chapter 11: Reasons

Adrien and Marinette looked eagerly at Chloe. She finally spoke.

"Master Fu said that your miraculous together can give someone an ultimate wish."

"An ultimate wish? Well why don't we use that to take care of Hawkmoth or wish for world peace?" Marinette asked.

"It's not that simple. In order to get what you want their has to be a loss. So if you wish for someone to be alive, then someone has to die in return. That's how it works."

"Wow." Adrien couldn't believe it. "What would my father want with-" He stopped himself. A reason for it all entered his mind. "No."

They all looked at him. "Adrien? Are you okay?" Chloe asked. Marinette touched his hand.

Adrien got up and started pacing. "I think I know why he wants that wish."

They all went wide eyed. "What is it? Adrien. You're scaring us." Marinette stood up as she spoke. "Why does he want the wish?"

Adrien looked down and then looked back up. "For my mother."

Gabriel stared at the portrait of his wife. "I promised you. I will keep that promise. Just sit tight, Emilie."

Natalie knocked on the door, but then came straight in. "Sir. Your son is nowhere to be found."

Gabriel turned around and looked at his assistant. "Good. Search his room. He may be hiding something we don't know about. Just make sure he doesn't catch you doing so. I don't need him to know my secret."

Natalie nodded. "Of course sir." She exited the room. Once she closed the door behind her, she leaned her back against it and took a calming breath. She then did as she was told.

"Your mother? You mean the one you haven't seen in forever? That mother?" Marinette started walking towards Adrien.

"What other mother could he mean?" Alya asked.

"I don't know exactly what happened to her because my father never told me the details. No one ever did. It's the only thing I can think of that would explain why he would want that wish."

"Are you sure it's the only thing? Dude, what if he wants to take over the world or have ultimate power?" Nino asked.

"I know my father. He doesn't do something without a good reason." Adrien sat in Marinette's desk chair.

"What do we do now?" Chloe asked. "Do we stick with the plan?"

Marinette thought. She thought of the possibility of what Adrien said to be true. "We'll stick with the plan. If what Adrien says is true, then when we get Hawkmoth we'll find his mother. It's a win win for us."

Adrien looked at Marinette. Marinette looked at Adrien. He knew she had it under control. She hoped she did.

"Tikki, Plagg, Trixx, Wayzz, and Pollen. Do you have any advice for us?" Marinette asked.

Tikki flew in the air next to Marinette. "Hawkmoth has his own kwami. Nooroo."

"Nooroo?" Everyone looked at each other.

"Yeah! He was taken along with the butterfly miraculous." Plagg joined in but then gulped down that last piece of Camembert he had with him. Adrien reacted with a disgusted twitch that affected his whole face.

"He is being held against his will. Us kwamis know that our powers are not meant for evil, but he cannot seem to leave his owner." Wayzz was giving facts that didn't help how Adrien felt about what his father was doing.

"We could never seem to find him or his owner," Trixx chimed in.

"But now we have finally done so thanks to your help!" Pollen politely stated.

"Your welcome, but right now we need to act fast before another akuma gets akumatized. Just because we know who Hawkmoth is now doesn't mean he'll stop. We need to move quickly." Alya likes at Marinette. "Are you two going to be alright once I post the videos?"

"You know we can handle ourselves." Marinette went behind Adrien and put her hands on his shoulders to reassure him. "Go ahead and put the plan into action. You all know your parts. We'll be right here ready for anything."

Alya took out her phone and started to upload the videos. "They'll be up soon. As soon as you two see it, it's go time." Nino and Chloe nodded in response.

After a few farewells and good lucks, Chloe, Nino, and Alya went down stairs to leave and start the plan in its motion.

Marinette looked at Adrien who was now standing. "It's all going to be alright. If your mother truly is the reason he's doing this, we'll find out where she is. Okay?"

Adrien nodded. "Okay."

They quickly kissed and then hugged. They stood there in an embrace for what seemed like forever, until Marinette's computer beeped. They both looked at it and it showed a notification. Marinette walked over and clicked it. The LadyBlog had a new post and it was the videos.

Marinette looked at Adrien. "It's go time."

Nino was around the corner of the police station with his headphones on and his phone out. He kept refreshing and refreshing his phone screen that showed him the LadyBlog. Finally, it had a new post. He smiled. "Good job, Alya."

He went around the corner and made his way inside the police station in a hurry. As soon as he had dramatically barged in, he shouted, "Hawkmoth has been found! There's evidence!"

The whole station had eyes on him. Nino went up to the front desk and showed the evidence in question. Lieutenant Roger, Sabrina's father, walked by and saw it himself. He started to make calls to go search the Agreste household.

Everything was going according to plan.

Nino was about to leave but stopped when he heard Lieutenant Roger say, "Every Agreste and worker of the Agreste household will be taken in for questioning. We need to see who all was in on this."

Nino then ran out and made his way back to Marinette's house. This was one thing they hadn't planned for. What were they going to do?
