"Hey!" I screamed. "Stop!" I was currently being tickled by Juan Karlos and he wouldn't stop. "I promise. I won't cheat anymore", I laughed, slapping his hands away.
"You promise?" I nodded and instantly got up. "I'm going home. It's getting late", I announced. "Yun skirt ko?"
JK let me borrow some sweat pants so I'd be comfortable instead of wearing that stupid uniform skirt.
He threw it to me and I entered the bathroom to change.
It's been weird these last two weeks. Of course there was the normal routine, but life's been getting interesting with Juan Karlos around.
I love having a friend like him, he's always fooling around, having a good time, it almost makes me think that he didn't lose a parent.
"Hurry up Syd! You're such a girl", he groaned, banging on the door.
"Syd? And I'm sorry the string of the sweatpants got stuck on the cabinets knob", I explained, tugging on the string.
"Do you need help?" he asked. That would be nice, but awkward. "Are you sure?" I asked quietly.
"Yeah, instead of you taking 5 hours in my bathroom." I laughed and opened the door. I pointed to the knob and he laughed. "How did you manage to do this?" He asked, kneeling down to untangle it.
"I was thinking about you", I muttered. He looked up at me and smirked. "No, not in that way. I just meant in a friendly way", I blushed.
"Okay, it's untangled, hurry up", he commanded closing the door. But before I could lock it, he popped his head back in. "I think about you too, in a friendly way of course", he winked.
I groaned and pushed his head out of the door, quickly closing and locking it. I slipped the sweatpants off and out my skirt back on.
"Done", I called out. He was on his phone laughing about something and smiled even more when he saw me. "Want me to walk you?" He asked, getting up half way until I stopped him.
"It's fine", I assured him, opening the door and saying goodbye. I was on my way back to the orphanage until Karlos came back and grabbed my shoulder, spinning me around.
Being the clumsy person I am, I slipped and would've fell if Juan Karlos didn't catch me. "I got you", he whispered, choking back a laugh.
I got out of his grip as quick as I could. "What do you want?" I snapped.
He laughed and gave me another kiss on the cheek. "Stop!" I whined. "You're just too cute."
He started playing with his fingers nervously and I waited for him to talk. "Would you maybe want to, go to the dance with me?" He muttered.
I smiled and lifted his head up gently. "No", I said as seriously as possible. He looked surprised and I laughed again. "I'm joking. Yeah, sure. I'd love to."
He smiled and gave me a hug before I started walking again. He was just too cute.
I walked into the orphanage and Ms. Danielle and Emma were twirling around and squealing. "What's going on?"
They turned to me, grabbed my hands, and twirled me around in circles. "Darren said yes!" Emma yelled.
I gasped and started celebrating with them. "And I saw what happened between you and Karlos", Ms. Danielle piped in. "It was adorable!"
I let out a huge breath that I wasn't even aware I was holding.
"Did he ask you?" Emma asked suddenly. I nodded and she screamed even more than last time. "He didn't give me any time either. The dance is tomorrow", I sighed.
