Surprises, Deadly Turtles, And a New Best Friend

I rapidly turned the steering wheel as the car was filled with screams and commands. "Sydney!" Emma screeched. I swerved the car to the right and crashed into a dumpster.

Sighs of relief soon filled the car and I sat there, shocked, scared, and I definitely won't be driving for a while. "Are you guys okay?" I panted.

They all nodded and I leaned back in my seat, the memories from 10 years ago coming back to me.

"I'm so sorry", I sobbed quietly. Nicolo shook his and and cupped my cheek. "It's not your fault", I smiled a little. "We know what happened to your parents, none of these accidents were your fault, okay?" Emma reassured.

I decided to change the subject, I didn't want to go any further into this conversation.

"Are we still up to see a very famous prison?" I asked, trying to sound happy. Darren and Emma smiled. "You're amazing", Darren laughed. I smirked and flipped my hair playfully,  "Stop it you."

"Okay, off to prison!" I yelled, setting my foot on the gas peddle once again. "Floor it baby!" Emma screamed. The car erupted into loud laughter.

"This is so creepy", Emma commented, snuggling back into Darren. I rolled my eyes, "It's awesome. What is wrong with you?" I look to the floor and saw a rat.

That's disgusting.

"Hey", I whispered to Nicolo. He turned to me and raised his eyebrows. "Look, there's a rat." He looked down at it and his eyes widened. "Fuck!" He yelled, running towards the exit.

"Nicolo, wait!" I laughed and I felt someone's arm around my waist. "Hi", Juan Karlos whispered.

I smiled and slowly took his arm off of my waist. "What do you want?" I asked, trying not to slap his face. With a chair. And spikes on the bottom.

"I'm sorry for what happened at the airport. You know I didn't mean that", he said softly. I laughed. "Oh that? It's fine", I lied.

He scoffed, "No it's not. It was a mistake, and I'm gonna make it up to you."

Who does he think he is?! Does he really think that he can just make it up to me?

Well the answer to that, is hell to the mother fricking yes.

He pulled out his phone and music started playing. "I sang this for you." I listened closely to the song and almost fainted.

Magkabilang Mundo.

This is like my favorite song, ever. He played it towards the end though, but whatever.

I smiled. I didn't know what else to do, I couldn't cry, I guess my smile meant so much more to him than I thought because he suddenly kissed me.

Unexpected, but I like it.

I'm such a girl.

"Oh okay", I breathed out. He smirked. "Nakaka kilig ano?" He laughed. I rolled my eyes, "Okay lang."

He made a 'tsk' noise and playfully slapped my shoulder. "I sang that on the voice!" He exclaimed.

Okay that did it.

"You what?" He smiled and slowly wrapped his arms around my waist again.  (Ok, so when I have my first kiss I really want the guy to wrap his arms around my waist bc it seems really cute and ugh what's wrong with me lol)

"I did it for you, so it didn't seem like I didn't care because I know I made it seem like that and I'm sorry. I regret everything that I did to hurt you and if you won't take me back then, I'd love to be best friend again. I don't care what we are as long as you're in my life."

I nodded. "I can't yet", I said. "It still hurts."

"I lo-" I cut him off. I knew what he was gonna say, and I couldn't let him do that.

"Don't say it", I warned him. I looked behind him and spotted something crawling, with a shell on its back.

A damn turtle?!

"Um Juan Karlos", I trailed off, focusing my attention on the turtle. "What?" He asked sadly. "Is there supposed to be a turtle here?" He raised his eyebrow at me and I pointed behind him.

I grabbed his hand and led him to the turtle. It looked really old.

I bent down to pet it, thinking it was adorable.

Until it bit me.

"Ow!" I yelped. Juan Karlos chuckled and checked my finger. "It's bleeding." I glared at him, "Thanks for stating the obvious."

"Max?" I heard a girl call. I looked around and she was running towards us with her arms open. "There you are!" She exclaimed, bending down to pick the turtle up.

"Oh, he's yours?" I asked. She smiled at me and nodded. "I'm Ruth."
