C h a p t e r 18

Jenn's POV

On our way to the restaurant, I was so nervous. My leg kept bouncing up and down and I kept patting the arm rest. Uncle mike isn't doing so fine either. "Uncle mike" I say to get his attention as we stop at a red light. He turns to look at me. "It's gonna be alright. I'm scared too but as long as we are together, we can get through anything." I say to comfort him.

"Thanks princess. I'm just very nervous especially that they know you are pregnant."  I nod and we drive into the parking lot, looking for a parking space. "Let's do this dad." Uncle mike looks at me and smiles so hard. "Let's do this daughter." He says and hugs me then kisses my cheek. We get out the car and walk slowly to the door. As we get in, we see that it's busy but a group of people catch my eye.

It's mother, father, some guy who looks around my age, auntie Maggie, uncle Turner, and my "parents" best friend growing up Leslie. "Hi how may I help you today?" The lady at the front thing that like when you come in and they sit you down at a table. Uncle mike says , "we are with a group named, Stevens." She looks down at the paper and nods her head. "Yes right this way." She walks us to the table with them.

Once we get to the table, I move closer to uncle mike and he wraps his arm around my waist. Everybody looks up at us and starts smiling. They began to standup only to get stopped by uncle mike. "Look we didn't come to play family. We are here because we know you guys won't leave us alone. Now just sit down and let's get down to business." His voice so cold.

My parents face expressions looks as but they just do as he says. We sit down and I look at the menu, damn this food looks good. "So Jenn, your parents told us that you are pregnant." Uncle Turner says which in turn everybody looks at me. "Yep I'm pregnant." "Are you sure you are ready to be a mom? Especially at 14?" Auntie Maggie says. Me and uncle mike look at her like she's fucking stupid.

"Look. I am more then ready to be a parent. My child's life doesn't concern anyone at this table expect me, Uncle mike, and the baby's father. Stop trying to be a family but we won't ever be one." I say and I can just feel the anger starting to rise but I feel a hand go on my hand under the table. I look at uncle mike and he smiles at me which makes me smile. A waiter comes to the table asking for our orders. When he gets to me, I say "can I have a strawberry lemonade and boneless honey bbq chicken." He nods and writes my order down on the paper. When he gets to uncle mike, he orders what I ordered.

"Look Jenn, me and your mother have something to tell you." Cole says and LeeAnn grabs his hand. I stay quiet and just wait. "This is your brother, Christoper. He's 17." I look at the guy they claim that's "my brother" he looks at me too and we just seem to check each other and see what we have in common. Christoper has dark brown hair, green eyes, his hair is long and goes down to his collar bone but it's in a man bun.

"It's nice to meet you Jenn. I hear so much about you." He says and his voice is deep. "Well I wish I could say the same but.... I can't." I say and I know that it's mean but I don't want any part of this family. "Jenn you don't have to be so dam rude. We just want to be a family again." LeeAnn say and the food comes to the table. "Thank you" I say to the waiter before digging into the food. I take out my phone and begin to text Aiden

Me- hey babe. I'm just at this stupid dinner with my so called family. I wish we didn't come but you wouldn't believe what they just told me. I have a so called brother and he's 17.

Aiden- hey princess. Just try to get through the dinner then you will be able to come home. I can't believe you didn't know you had a brother! Why didn't they tell you?

Me- idk but I'm finna text you when we get in the car. Love you daddy xoxo

Aiden- love you too wife

Aww that had me smiling and waiting till we got to the house. I miss him but I know that I have to get through this dinner.

"Who are you texting Jenn?" Auntie Maggie says with a smile. I just look at her with a blank look on my face before answering. "My boyfriend." Uncle mike texts me and I look at the message which says, "let's go babygirl I'm tired." We begin to standup and I drink the rest of my juice before eating the rest of the chicken. "Wait where are you guys going?" Cole says. "We have been here for an hour. We are done talking. I'm sure princess is sleepy and my grandson needs his mother to sleep." Uncle mike says he stands behind me.

"Your having a boy?" LeeAnn says. "Yeah. I am. Just know that you guys won't be apart of his life. After this, we don't want anything to do with you guys. Just do me a simple favor and leave us alone." I say and uncle mike gives the money to our waiter and we leave heading out to the car.

"Wooh! That was a lot to handle" Uncle mike says and we get in the car. "I know. I just hope they leave us alone." I say before putting on my seatbelt and going to sleep.
