Chapter 27
Jenn's pov
After putting Thomas in his crib, we ended up going to sleep which brings us to where we are now, Pete's restaurant. I am so serious when I say that I want this job. Uncle Mike decided to drive me today, while Grayson, Aiden, and Thomas also decided to come with us. "Jenn don't worry. You'll be fine" Grayson says trying to calm my nerves. "Grayson you literally don't understand my emotions right now. What if they don't like me? What if they judge me?" I say and worry seeps through my voice.
"Princess don't worry about that. Your just like your old man, tough as knuckles." Uncle Mike says and we all laugh. "It's right there to the left." I say to uncle Mike and he goes to park the car. I get out of the car and I look down at my phone, "right on time" I say to myself and run but walk into the restaurant. I look around and see it's very busy. I then see a waiter carrying a tray of food. "Hi excuse me" I say and he looks at me with a smile. "What can I help you with beautiful?" I smile at his words. "I called yesterday because of the job opening." He gives the tray of food to another waiter and tells me to come with him to the managers office. "Our original manager is out sick, so we have a temporary manager at the moment." The guy tells me. I nod my head.
"What's your name?" "Jenn Stevens. You?" "Luke Peters" he says as we stop in front of the managers office and Luke knocks on the door. "Come in" I hear a soft but firm voice say. Luke opens the door and lets me walk in first. "Diana, this is Jenn Stevens. She's here because she wants the open job." He explains to her. "Ok thanks" Diana says and Luke leaves the room and closes the door. "Hi Jenn. My name is Ms. Porter but you may call me Diana. So let's just get down to business, why do you want this job?" I take a minute before speaking. "Well, you may not know but I am 14 and am in need of a job. I have a son and i want to be able to provide for him. I just want my son to know his mom is independent."
By the time I'm done, Diana looks at me with praise. "You got the job Ms. Stevens. Of course I'll have to go over your records and whatnot, but you have the job. You may have seen that outside, we are very busy. Today I won't make you work, but in 2 days, I need you open." She says and I can't help but be happy. "Thank you so much Ms. Porter" I say and we both stand up and shake hands. "Im looking forward to working with you." Diana says and I say, "me too."
