BRIA’S POV
"She’s so cute. Seriously. How can someone look this cute?" I thought.
We were now walking to the hotel I’m currently staying at. We kept on glancing at each other. Sometimes we would catch each other but Christina would always look away first with that adorable blush on her face.
We were walking quite slowly so I decided to take this opportunity to know her better.
"Favorite color. Go." I quickly said, earning her confused look.
"Umm…green and orange."
I stared at her.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing. It’s just. I don’t know most people would answer black or blue...and here you are answering green and orange." I chuckled.
"It is a bit strange. Green cause its the color of forests in Zelda which is like my favorite game and Orange cause...I don't know. I just get so happy when i see that color around me. Dogs or cats?" She laughed a little.
"Aww! She's so adorable." I smiled at her.
I thought for moment.
"Cats. Yeah cats. Preferably Garfield size."
"So cats the size of dogs?" She asked again, smirking.
A couple of seconds of silence passed and soon we were laughing uncontrollably.
"Yes those. Love those." I grinned.
Our laughter soon died down to a comfortable silence.
"By the way, your audition was amazing." I heard Christina say from out of the blue.
I looked at her and saw she was smiling at me. I looked down and blushed. God this girl is making me feel SO girly!
"Thanks. Did you like it?" Cause I wanted to impress you. I wanted to add but just left it out.
"Of course I did! Are you crazy?! Who wouldn’t?! Your voice is just so unique and raw! And the way you hold those notes were insane! Any one of the coaches will be crazy not to turn around for you!"
Somewhere during the time she was saying this, Christina quickened her pace and jumped in front of me. She kept walking backwards and did arm gestures to emphasize every word she said with so much enthusiasm.
I laughed and was smiling the whole time. How can she transform from being a shy person to a fan girl in seconds?
"Well I’m glad you liked it. I was really hoping you would." I smiled. She was still walking backwards. It was actually quite adorable.
Her hands were holding each of her backpack’s straps and her head would switch between looking at me and behind her.
"I loved it! It was the best performance today! And I doubt anyone can top that tomorrow and the next day!" She smiled.
"Aww! Thank you! But the wrecking ball performance was pretty close don’t you think?" I asked, trying to change the subject to hide the blush forming on my cheeks when I heard her say she loved it.
"Yeah that was great too. But I would prefer it to be sang in another way though." She did a thinking pose and continued her backward walk.
"Yeah? Like how?" I asked, curious to what her opinion would be because that performance was really solid.
"I don’t know but I think it’ll sound better if she sang the first parts like with much more character because it sounded a lot like the original. Also in the last chorus during the word ’wrecking’, it would be really cool if she held out a long note then step it up to show her range."
My jaw dropped and I just stared at her with wide eyes. She must’ve noticed my silence and looked to see what was wrong.
"What? Did I say something?" Christina tilted her head to the side.
"More like everything. You sound like you have experience making song covers. Are you hiding something from me Miss Grimmie?" I smirked and took a huge step and jokingly narrowed my eyes at her.
"Wha- oh it’s nothing! Really! I just- I picked it up from work that’s all!" Christina panicked and frantically waved her hands in front of her.
She stopped looking behind her and where she was going. She didn’t see that a part of the sidewalk was chipped away. Her foot got caught in the rubble and started to fall. I saw it seconds before and grabbed her waist. She wrapped her arms around my neck on impulse. But I couldn’t support her weight with just an arm and started falling with her.
Everything felt like it slowed down.
We were near a lamp post so made a grab for it with my free arm and was able to pull us both but before I could pull us to a stand, my right arm which was holding to the post gave out. My other leg was able to recover and made a step so I was able to lift us a little.
We ended up ramming on the post.
“Oh God.” I blinked.
We suddenly found ourselves directly under the lights of the lamp post like those old cheesy romantic movies.
Christina’s back was on the post. Her arms were wrapped loosely around my shoulders. My right hand was holding the post directly behind her head and my other arm was still wrapped securely around her petite waist.
There were virtually no space between us. My torso and hips were flush against hers. Even our legs were a bit tangled with each other.
“Wow…” I though as I stared at her eyes.
She stared back at me.
Our faces were no more than an inch apart. My forehead was resting against hers and our noses were touching.
We were both breathing hard.
I slowly looked down. Her lips were slightly open from breathing and was only a centimeter away from mine.
I looked up and saw her slightly hooded eyes were also staring at my lips. I felt her arms around my shoulders move to tighten a little. Almost as if pushing me to move closer.
I was completely torn.
I just met this girl but I just can’t help but get pulled by her…
“You have no idea what you’re doing to me, Christina.”
I looked down to her lips again...I shouldn’t have. I saw her tongue wet her bottom lip and I just lost it.
I slowly gripped her waist tighter and leaned in. We slowly closed our eyes.
I felt our top lips connect then the bottom. Then officially, I kissed Christina Grimmie...
For half a damn second. Before I could even register anything about the kiss, a car parked along the street suddenly alarmed loudly.
I felt Christina pushed me away.
Ouch…that hurt.
Her eyes were wide like saucers and just stood there. She raised a hand to touch her lip. As soon as she did though, she turned around and ran fast.
"CHRISTINA! Christina, wait!" I tried calling her but she just kept on running and disappeared at the next corner just like earlier today.
I groaned and bumped my head on the post.
"Real smooth, Bria...real smooth."
