Christina’s POV
The end of the day is nearing and soon i’ll be home free. Just a little less than an hour, Christina and you’ll be sitting pretty in your room playing League of Legends, stuffing yourself with unhealthy food and not care about anything else.
I circled the stage and the whole room to make sure everything is prepped for tomorrow.
Nick recently told me that i would be the checker for the next couple of days because he doesn’t want me to pull a nerve or something and decided to switch jobs with me for the meantime. Again, People are being too overprotective. I mean just today 4 people offered their lunch to me! And that’s something you definitely don’t see everyday…especially from Eric.
‘But look at the bright side…i got me a lollipop on the way here!’ I grinned as i twirled the grape flavoured candy in my mouth.
“Christina!” Eric called from the other side of the room.
“Yeah?!” I shouted back, taking out the lollipop from my lips.
“I’m gonna go on ahead alright?!” He said, fixing the collar of his shirt.
“Wait, what?! but you told me this morning we’ll leave together?!” I shouted again, curious as to why he was rushing.
“Umm…uh…I forgot i still have to do some..uh stuff! I’ll see you tomorrow! Bye Bro!” Eric slowly walked backwards to the exit, waved at me and ran to the exit.
“Wa-! oh never mind you’re gone.” I sighed, put the lollipop back in my mouth and looked around.
‘Well that’s weird. Where’s everybody else?’ I thought, as i passed through the other rooms.
I kept quiet, trying to hear a chatter or any sound at all but there was none. Its still 30 minutes before anyone of us can officially leave unless they were permitted by Nick but why do i feel like i’m the only one here?
I went to the staff room to get my things and still saw no one here or when i was on my way here. Usually at this time the room would be packed but now, not a single soul was in sight.
‘Okay this is getting creepy.’ I thought as i slowly walked to my locker and got my things as quickly as i could with one thing on my mind. Final Destination.
I strapped my bag in one shoulder, got my hoodie and closed the locker all in 5 seconds flat. I bent down to tie my shoelace that got loose when suddenly i heard footsteps from the hallway which halted all of my movements.
‘…I bet that’s just one of the staffs coming here to grab their things….’ I chuckled at my silliness and exhaled the breath i was holding.
As the footsteps grew closer though, i became more and more nervous.
‘But what if a serial killer is on the loose?! or worse! thieves!’ I began to panic.
‘Okay first of all how can that possibly be worse and second, Christina Victoria Grimmie, this is a heavily secured building ain’t no way anyone can just go here!’ The better half of me reasoned.
‘Security can get lousy you know! and whoever that is, i’m fighting for my life!’
I grabbed a rolled cardboard conveniently left at my feet and stood up. Raising my shaking hands, holding my “weapon” above my head. All at the same time running to the side of the door, waiting for the intruder to come in. My lollipop, abandoned at the trash can since i can’t even still my chattering teeth.
