Christina’s POV
I slowly opened my eyes and was met by a blinding light. I closed them again and waited for a few more seconds before blinking them open a couple of times. Soon, the blinding light became more of a white ceiling.
I flickered my eyes slowly around the room and saw my brother sitting on a chair by the wall reading a magazine. He looked up as he turned a page and saw me looking at him.
"Oh finally you’re awake. Had a good sleep, Princess?" He smirked as he placed the mag beside him and walked to my bed.
"I guess." I tried to sit up but was stopped.
"Whoa there. You just woke up. Give it a couple of hours okay?" He said and laid me back down.
"But, Marcus!" I whined.
"Doctor’s orders." Marcus said sternly.
"So what you’re like a nurse now?" I grinned at him.
"Yes and your personal nurse demands an explanation why we suddenly got a call extremely early in the morning telling us you were in a hospital. Because that gave us a heart attack. Not kidding, Christina." He said as he placed a hand on my head and ruffled my hair a bit.
A smile appeared on my face at the thought of my family worrying about me. They have always treated me with so much care...more than anyone could ever ask for. I looked down as my smile faded away slowly.
I stared at the needles poking my arm as i recalled everything that happened.
Getting myself forcefully dressed. The dinner. The song Adam and the others sang. Me running back to get my purse...and Bria.
I felt every detail that night flashing back in my mind...
I remembered everything..
How i felt like the air in my lungs got sucked out of my body...how i felt like someone is choking me and i couldn’t breathe...
It was like...betrayal slapped to my face.
But who was i kidding. I was too stupid to think that we would lead to somewhere.
Everything was going too perfect. She was too perfect.
Perfect things never last.
You never learn Christina...
I remembered running with the rain pouring down on me...winding up at a lonely bench deep inside the park and crying my eyes out for what seemed like hours.
I remembered feeling so cold and drained, my vision blurring...then losing consciousness. My body falling hard to the ground.
I remembered hearing claws lightly scratching the ground. The sound coming closer and closer. The last thing i remembered was something warm and wet grazing my cheek.
What was that i wonder.
My brother’s question remained unanswered as i recalled last night. He noticed my silence and cleared his throat to get my attention.
"Rest for now. But i demand an answer later." Mark said as his hand patted my shoulder.
I weakly smiled at my brother and whispered a thank you. He smiled back and made his way to the door.
"I’m going to call Mom and Dad to let them know you’re awake, okay?" Mark looked back at me while opening the door of my room.
Before i could answer, a dog suddenly came in the room past Mark and ran towards me. It wagged its tail and jumped a little to get its front paws on my bed. It looked at me while its tail wagged more.
