We were all more or less in one piece, but there was a slight problem.'How on Nirn are we going to shift all of this rock?' Asked Heryn.
'I could shout it apart, but the rest of the mountain would come crashing down.' I suggested.
'Let me rephrase.' Stated Heryn. 'How are we going to shift all of this rock without being killed?'
'Levitation spell?' Suggested Reyes.
'I could turn into a werewolf and repeatedly smack into it.' Mused Diana. 'Although we'd have to wait until next month.'
'Why don't we sleep on it? It's been a rough day. Maybe some of the bedrooms are intact.'
The whole party agreed and set off in different directions, giving me a growing sense of unease. It was enough to almost make me call them back into one big group again, but it's not like there was anything to warn them about, considering all it was was a bad feeling. I had hung back, waiting to see which group needed saving first, and I bolted as soon as the scent of fresh magicka residue swamped my senses, someone was using magic. The signature crackling of magical flames met my ears as I stepped into a room that was quite clearly in the process of burning all of the Falmer corpses to dust. The problem was that Heryn was standing stranded in the middle of the fire, unaware that his feet were planted quite securely upon one of the soon to be burning corpses.
Without the slightest inkling of a second thought, I leapt across the open space between the Breton and I, body slamming him out of the way as the corpse combusted where he'd just stood. The problem was that I was now trapped in the middle of the now out of control fire, making my blood freeze. I shouted an ice shout at the flames, but they devoured the dragon magic effortlessly. Finally my panic began to set in, causing me to scream, which was something I didn't do often. My scream was unnaturally High pitched, muffled yell could be heard from someone (most likely Reyes) as footsteps began to thunder towards the room. Heryn was desperately trying to put the fire out as I shouted unrelenting force, which almost made one of the smaller blazes go out. Almost.
'Shadow!'
Reyes had skidded into the room just as I began hyperventilating from a panic attack, making me freeze in my place and begin to feel light headed.
Someone grabbed my arm, shoving me into strong arms that scooped me up and led me to the safety of the balcony in the side of the mountain. The elf checked me over, away from the others.'Are you alright Shadow?'
But I wasn't focused on Reyes.
'Shadow?'
The air behind the handsome high elf was shimmering, distorting the view of the mountains behind us. As realisation slammed into me, I shoved Reyes out of the way and threw a throwing knife at the shimmering spot, the weapon making a dull thud as the intruder became visible. Lying in a pool of his own blood, was Reyes' best friend.
