I walked out of the bullhead following Ruby and Yang, my head bowed, showing others that they were my masters. I mean, the ears, tail, and collar were quite self explanatory, but it helped people know not to interact with me. I made sure to stay behind my two masters, but be close enough to show that I was with them. They continued to walk, until Yang told Ruby she had other friends she wanted to meet, then dashed off. I didn't say anything. I didn't even look up. I just waited for Ruby to make a move.

"Come on (Y/N)! Come here! Look like you're actually my brother. You know slavery is illegal, even if it's still quite popular." She ordered, looking around to check if anyone was coming.

"Y-yes ma-ma-ma'am." I said, walking to her side and not looking up.

"Not ma'am. Call me by my name, (Y/N)."

"Y-yes Ruby." I said.

She then started walking towards the large academy, but bumped into a girl dressed completely in white... obviously a Schnee. Weiss Schnee by the looks of it. I didn't know too much about here however. They both fell on the floor. I ran up to them, pulled Ruby up first, then offered my hand to Weiss Schnee. She gave me her hand and I pulled her up. Without so much as a thank you, she went ballistic on mistres— I mean Ruby.

Without minding, I picked up all of the Schnee belongings off the floor and put them in the cart she had with her. I nodded and gave a quick, courteous smile to the Butler. He smiled and nodded back.

"Thank you young man. My back these days is not the same as it once was, you know." He said.

"I-it's f-fi-fine. It's th-th-the lea-least I-I-I-I c-could d-d-do." I answered.

"What do you mean? It wasn't your fault."

"S-s-sor-Sorry."

"Do you mean to tell me that you're used to taking the blame for that girl over there?" He was quite sharp. I liked this man... no. I don't. I neither like him or dislike him. I'm indifferent. I don't care.

"I-I-I-it's c-con-confid-fidential..."

He nodded, then left with the Schnee. They had seemingly stopped their bickering... or one-sided arguing.

"Why didn't you back me up?!" She shouted at me. I guess it was her turn to scream her head off.

"I-I-I'm s-sor-Sorry m-m-m-m—" I apologised, praying not to be beaten tonight.

"What's your explanation?! Hmm?! No! I don't want to hear it! And what were you doing talking to that servant back there?!"

"I-I-I—"

She slapped me. I cried out, holding my cheek.

"Come on! Otherwise we'll be late for the ceremony!"

"Y-y-yes ma'am."

She then stormed off, and I had to speed walk, sometimes even jog to keep up with her. Eventually she met a blond teenager and they started walking together. A while after that, they then started worrying due to being lost, and started blaming each other. They then walked off again, and after another few minutes of aimless wondering about, we finally got to the welcoming ceremony.

There was a silver haired man in a peculiar green and black suit holding a mug of coffee. He must be Ozpin then. He gave a speech about wasted energy. I didn't care much. It didn't affect me. I was t a fighter, and wasn't going to become a hunter. Or it was very unlikely anyway. Besides, I'm a slave, remember? I'm not allowed to have dreams.

After the speech, we were told to go to the ballroom to sleep, and that there was a big initiation tomorrow. Not like I was going to partake. Not with my useless fighting ability. Ruby and Yang had met up again during the speech and were now walking with me to the ballroom. There were a bunch of blankets strewn about the place, supposedly one for each of us. I settled some distance away from my two mistresses and lay under my blanket. I then felt a crushing pain in my stomach. It was Yang.

"Hey. My sister's cold. Give your blanket. Now." She ordered. So I gave her my blanket.

This spot wasn't as good without a blanket, so I went to one of the far corners of the room and huddled myself into as small a ball as possible. I shut my eyes and finally began to drift off to sleep.
