***Guys, this story is extremely sad and I honestly struggled to write it so just be warned***

You woke up to your amazing boyfriend, Connor McDavid, kissing your small baby bump.
"Goodbye baby. You be good for your mommy until I get back." He whispered placing a gentle kiss right below your belly button.

"Does mommy get a kiss too?" You joked looking into his green eyes.
"Mommy can have whatever she wants." Connor replied winking as he placed his hands on your hips and placing kisses along your neck and jawline.
"Okay, you need to control yourself, that's how we got into this situation." You laughed gently pushing him off of you.

"Not much we can do about it now. Not like you can get pregnant again until this one is here." He smirked causing you to giggle.

"Do you have to go?" You whined.
"Yes. In case you forgot, I play hockey and it's the playoffs." He joked kissing your cheek.
"I know but ever since I've been pregnant I haven't wanted you to leave my side." You explained.
Connor placed a hand on your stomach.
"Well, just think of it this way; the sooner I leave and go kick some ass on the ice, the sooner I get to come home to you and our baby." He smiled.
"Connor, I have to tell you...you've been so amazing. I mean I don't know what other 21-year-old would be so ready to be a dad. I'm only 2 months but you've made everything so easy." You admitted.

"I'm ready for anything life throws at me as long as I'm with you." He said placing a kiss on your lips.

"Connor as much as I want to lay in bed and kiss you all day I know you have a flight to catch." You said.
"I know. I'll be back in a few days, I love you." He said placing a kiss on your forehead.

He then moved down your body until his face was in line with your small bump.
"I can't wait to meet you baby McDavid. Keep your mom safe while I'm gone." He said placing kisses all over your stomach.
Finally Connor left leaving you all alone. You relaxed most of the day, eventually getting up and making yourself something to eat. You took your prenatal vitamins that Connor had already set out on the counter for you. It really was amazing how serious he was about keeping you and your baby healthy. He always made sure you were eating the right things and avoiding the things that weren't good for the baby. When you realized it was almost time for the game you settled into the couch ready to watch the game. They were playing the Anaheim Ducks and you were so excited to watch Connor play. It didn't matter how many games of his you watched, you were always excited to see him play.

Halfway through the 2nd period you started feeling a weird pain in your back. You took a couple of deep breaths and it passed. You resumed watching the game only for the pain to come back this time even worse. You felt something on the couch; when you looked down you felt your heart break when you saw that you were sitting in a lot of blood. You became scared and knew you needed to go to the hospital to check on the baby. Connor was the only one you knew in Edmonton since the rest of your family was still in Ontario. Connor wanted to win the cup so bad, you knew you couldn't bother him with this right now; you needed to remain calm. You got up and through your tears and nerves you changed into a black pair of sweatpants to hide the blood and walked outside and began to drive yourself to the hospital; it was a short 5-minute drive. You went straight into the emergency room with tears streaming down your face.
"Please help." You said to the receptionist.

She quickly jumped up and retrieved a wheelchair for you. She helped you sit down and whisked you back to a room. The doctor that had been with you for the duration of the pregnancy quickly came in and immediately began running test on you and the baby.
"Please tell me everything is okay. Doctor, I can't lose this baby." You cried out feeling the fear overcome you.
"I'll be right back in a few moments, please try and remain calm." The doctor said placing a caring hand on your shoulder once he had finished all of the tests.
