Brendan parked his car in front of the church and sat there just staring at the doors. He felt an all too familiar pain in his chest—heartbreak. He reached into his glove box and pulled out a flask full of whiskey. He took a large swig before placing it back in the glove box. He took a deep breath but couldn't get over the pain he was feeling. He hit his hands against the steering wheel as the pain turned to anger. He tried to compose himself by taking a few more deep breaths. He looked down at his navy suit and remembered all the times you had helped him put his tie on. Thankfully, he was able to get it on today, but it always looked better when you did it for him.

Brendan finally built up the courage to get out of the car and walk into the church. He was met with your mother at the door.
"Oh Brendan, you look so nice. I'm so glad you decided to come." She gushed pulling him into a hug.
"Thank you, I wanted to be here for her." He replied trying to keep his composure.
Brendan looked around the beautifully decorated church until his eyes landed on you. The door to your bridal suite was cracked open and he caught a glimpse of you standing in front of the mirror in a beautiful white wedding dress. Your eyes landed on his in the reflection and your entire world came to a stand-still. Brendan had been your best friend since you were little...that is until you guys slept together up a few months back. You were still with your fiancé at the time, but you were with Brendan at his house and he had kissed you and you couldn't stop yourself. It was almost like you were magnets being pulled together. Sleeping with Brendan was unlike anything you had ever experienced. He was so gentle and caring, he made you feel so beautiful and safe. He didn't take his eyes off of you the entire time. But after everything happened, you told Brendan it was probably a bad idea to continue the friendship since you were committed to someone else.

Brendan stared at you for what felt like hours but was less than a few seconds.
"You know you can go see her." Your mom urged him.

Brendan was hesitant, and maybe it was the alcohol, but he walked right into the room. Your best friend looked up at him horrified—she knew everything.

"Brendan..." You breathed out in a whisper.
"Hi." He said fully looking at you.
"You look so beautiful, Y/N." He complimented.

"Thank you." You replied.

You both stood there until you hesitantly walked over to him and wrapped your arms around him tightly.

"I've missed you." You said as you struggled not to cry.
"I've missed you too." He replied placing his strong arms around you, holding on for dear life.

"Guys, can you give us a few minutes?" You turned to your friends who agreed and walked out of the room leaving you and Brendan alone.
"I was surprised you came." You admitted looking to Brendan.

"I couldn't miss your big day." He smiled.

You looked down at your shoes embarrassed at the fact that you were the reason you and Brendan weren't friends anymore.
"Do you love him?" Brendan's words snapped you out of your thoughts.
"What?" You asked.

"Your fiancé, do you love him?" Brendan asked gaining more courage.

"Of course I love him." You said.
"Then how was it so easy to sleep with me? How was it so easy for you to look me in the eyes during it all. How could you kiss someone the way you kissed me when you say you're in love with someone else?" Brendan questioned.
You let a tear roll down your tanned cheek.
"Oh Y/N, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you cry." He said placing a hand on your knee giving it a squeeze.
"I thought I loved him." You admitted.
"What do you mean you thought?" He questioned.
