Sidney's POV
I sat around the table with all of my teammates and their wives and girlfriends. Kris Letang's wife, Catherine had invited all of us over for dinner.

"Sidney, I have something to tell you." Evgeni Malkin's wife Anna asked.
I looked over at her; she had a nervous look on her face.

"She's coming to the wedding." Anna said.

I felt my heart drop instantly, I knew she was talking about Y/N. Geno and Anna were getting married in a few days and I didn't even consider that she would be there. I missed her so much; she was the love of my life and she left me with no explanation as to why. I was heartbroken. I couldn't believe she had thrown away everything we had

"Oh, it will be nice to see her again." I said trying to mask the pain as I forced a smile.
"Sidney, if you think it will be too much..." Anna trailed off.
I shook my head.
"No, I'll be fine." I said.
"Sidney's going to try and win her back." Kris interjected himself into the conversation.
"She's engaged, Sid." Jake Guentzel informed me.
"What?" I asked as my heart sank.
"I follow her on Instagram; it was really recent." Jake added.
"Did anyone else know about this?" I asked the large group of my friends.
No one said anything. I knew they had to know; they all followed her on social media. I didn't have social media, so it killed me that none of them thought to tell me she had gotten engaged.

"Were you all just not going to tell me?" I asked.

"Sid, we didn't want to hurt you." Kris's wife Catharine said.

"Let me see her Instagram." I said holding my hand out to Jake.

Jake pulled up her page and placed his phone into my hand. I began scrolling through her pictures until I found the picture of her with her new man. He was covered in tattoos and looked like a complete tool bag.
"Really?" I whispered to myself seeing him.
"Sidney, please stop torturing yourself by looking at all of her pictures. It's been over a year; she's moved on, maybe you should try and do the same." Catherine said sadly.

"I'm getting her back." I stated simply handing Jake's phone back.

Day of the Wedding
Sidney's POV

I walked into the church and quietly found a seat next to the Letang's.
"Hey Sidney." Catherine smiled.
"Hi guys." I replied.
"She's over there." Kris said pointing to a few rows ahead of us.

I couldn't see her face, as her back was turned towards us. She had on a pale pink dress that hugged her body perfectly making her look absolutely stunning. She was by herself; I wondered where her new man was. I was pulled from my thoughts as the wedding began. The entire wedding, I struggled to pay attention to Geno and Anna because I was so focused on Y/N. I had not seen her in over a year and all I wanted to do was hug her. Once the wedding was over we walked towards the reception which was in a fancy right down the street from the church. I looked for Y/N to try and talk to her, but I couldn't find her; I hoped she didn't leave after the wedding. I wanted to see her so badly. We walked into the hotel revealing the large ballroom. My eyes landed on her and I began walking towards her, like I was drawn to her like a magnet.

I felt a hand pull me back, I looked to see Jake.
"Just wait, don't scare her. Let a few of us talk to her and then you should go." He said trying to give me advice.
I nodded my head listening to him.

"Where is her boyfriend?" I asked.
"I don't know, want me to ask her?" Jake asked.

I nodded my head as he walked over towards her. He was a younger guy on the team, but I liked that he was trying to help me.
When he approached her she turned around revealing her gorgeous face. I felt myself go weak in the knees as the smiled when she saw Jake. I hadn't seen that smile in over a year and it still left me speechless. She pulled Jake into a hug. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I wanted to so bad. I wanted to hear her voice more than I've wanted anything.
