When Amie finally came around, she had such a headache she wished she wasn't awake yet. She groaned, which didn't help with the pain, and the sound made three people gasp.
"Madam Pomfrey! She's awake!" Hermione said quickly. Amie opened her eyes, before shutting them tightly shut, because of the light in the hospital wing.
"Oh, good. I was wondering when she would come around." Madam Pomfrey said when she came into the room. "Now, Miss Jones. You really must stop having your head banged around like this, or you'll receive a permanent injury. How are you feeling?" she said kindly.
"Sore." Amie replied. "My head hurts."
"I would think so. That was quite a blow, but I believe you will make a full recovery."
"Thanks, Madam Pomfrey." Amie smiled at her, with squinted eyes.
"Don't thank me. Thank them. They were the ones knocking out a mountain troll yesterday, after all."
"Thanks, guys." Amie said, not really knowing who she was thanking.
"No problem." She heard Ron's voice say, moving closer to her. "Are you okay, AJ?"
"I'll be fine." Amie assured him. "Sorry 'bout calling you an arse,"

The next day Amie was feeling loads better, so Madam Pomfrey allowed her to go and have breakfast in the Great hall with her friends. When she got there she stood by the door in shock. Hermione sat with Harry and Ron, and they seemed to be getting along. Amie rubbed her eyes, to see if she was hallucinating or not. When she found it to be true, she went to join them.
"Uh, guys? Are you friends now, or what? Because I don't really believe my eyes." Amie said.
"Yes, we're friends now." Hermione said simply. Harry proceeded in telling her everything that happened after she blacked out.
"You managed the Hover Charm, Ron?" Amie said, impressed.
"Yeah. Couldn't have done it without Hermione though." he replied.
"Well, anyways," Harry said. "Then McGonagall, Snape and Quirrell turned up, and Hermione lied and said she went searching for the troll, and that we saved you."
"You lied to a teacher, Hermione?" Amie said disbelievingly, and Hermione shrugged. "And where do I come into this?"
"You followed me, trying to get me to change my mind about finding the troll." Hermione said.
"Oh." Amie said. "That sounds --"
"Like something you would do, I know." Hermione said. "I'm not that bad at lying you know."
"Never said you were. Though I must say that they were pretty stupid to believe you. You obviously had been crying the entire... oh." Amie stopped herself after a warning glare from Hermione.
"Uhh, about that, Hermione... ,I uhh -- I need to apologize." Ron said awkwardly.
"No need!" Hermione said quickly.
"No, but I think there is. I'm sorry Hermione, I didn't mean those things I said, I was just jealous that you were better than me, I guess."
"Apology accepted." Hermione said, possibly beaming at him. Amie smiled broadly as well.

Since it was now November, the weather turned very cold. That didn't stop the Quidditch practices though, and Amie and the rest were freezing down to the bone every time they headed back to the castle after practice. Their first match, Gryffindor versus Slytherin, was this very Saturday, and Wood had them working more and harder than ever. The teachers had also started giving them more homework, which meant that especially Amie and Harry had almost no spare time at all. This didn't bother Amie very much, she greatly enjoyed both Quidditch and school, so she wanted to perform her very best.
The day before the match they went out to the courtyard during break. Hermione had conjured up a blue flame which she kept in a jar, and they were standing with their backs against it, getting warm. Right then, Snape limped past. They stood closely together, shielding the jar from view, but Snape approached them anyway.
"What's that you've got there, Potter?" he said and pointed to Quidditch Through the Ages. "Library books are not to be taken outside the school. Give it to me. Five points from Gryffindor."
When Snape limped away Harry turned to the others and said angrily;
"He's just made that rule up! Wonder what's wrong with his leg?"
"Dunno, but I hope it's really hurting him." said Ron.
"Come on, let's go back inside before anyone else comes." Amie said and sighed.
That night, the common room was very loud. Amie was trying to get her homework done, but she couldn't concentrate because she was so nervous.
"I'm going to go ask Snape if I can have the book back." Harry said getting up.
"Better you than me." Ron and Hermione said.
"Good luck." Amie added, before focusing on her homework again.
"Did you get it?" Ron said a while later, and Amie looked up to see a scared-looking Harry. "What's the matter?"
"You won't believe what I just saw." Harry whispered. "I came to the staffroom, and no one opened when I knocked, so I opened it to see if the book was there, but instead I saw Snape and Filch. Snape had his robes above his knee, and a large wound on his leg. He asked Filch how you're supposed to keep your eyes on all three heads at once. Then he saw me and yelled at me to get out!"
"The three-headed d-dog?" Amie asked.
"Yeah. You know what this means? He tried to get passed it at Halloween, that was where he was going when we saw him -- he's after whatever he's guarding! And I'd bet my broomstick he let that troll in to create a diversion!" Harry concluded.
"No -- he wouldn't." Hermione said, eyes wide open. "I know he's not very nice, but he wouldn't try and steal something Dumbledore was keeping safe."
"Honestly, Hermione, you think all teachers are saints or something. I'm with Harry. I wouldn't put anything past Snape. But what's he after? What's the dog guarding?" Ron said.
"Ron, we can't know for sure that it is Snape. And Harry, you can't know that it was Snape that let the troll in, it could have been just about anyone. Do not think that this mystery is solved." Amie said.
Amie went to bed a few minutes later, determined to get a good nights sleep before the game. Unfortunately that didn't happen.##################
I wrote like half of this chapter yesterday, but I had to go to bed. Then today I have painted like all day, so I only had time to finish now. I'm so stressed right now. Comment! Bye! :)
