Estelle
After the video ends it cuts to some news station who rants about the disrespect of the video.
Leeciy smiles. "It looks great live."
"Did you draw that?" I ask.
He nods. "I needed something that would pop, and that's what I came up with."
"What was the symbol."
"That was the Roman Symbol of Earth." He says. "Since you can move rock and earth."
I nod. "It was awesome."
"Thanks." Leeciy says.
My phone rings from my pocket, so I take it out and answer it. "Hello?"
"Hey, where are you?" September asks over the phone."
I look over at Leeciy who made himself busy by talking in fluent Japanese to the cashier.
"I'm at a Japanese store somewhere." I say.
"Are you alone?" He asks.
"No, Leeciy's here." I say.
He sighs. "Okay, we didn't know where you were."
"Is everything okay?"
"Uh, not really." He mutters.
"What's going on?" I ask.
"Cirus had another one of her psychic episodes, she won't wake up." He says. "She's shaking, and no matter what I do she won't stop."
"We'll be back in a minute." I say.
"Okay, please hurry." He says.
I hang up, and grab Leeciy by the arm. "Cirus is having one of her episodes."
He looks over at me before grabbing my arm and running.
***
We ran the whole way home but Leeciy wasn't even winded when we walked into the motel room.
September was sitting next to Cirus, holding her tiny hand in his two larger ones.
"How is she?" Leeciy asks, sliding beside him.
"She was shaking, but she stopped." September says, before looking at Leeciy. "What if she dies?"
"She won't, her body's equipped for these things." Leeciy answers, grabbing one of the pillows from the top of the bed, setting it under her head.
Just as he does that, her eyes open, but they weren't the usual dark-almost-black brown, now they were completely milky white, like her eyes rolled into the back of her head.
"This is Lexon." She said in an ominous voice. "I am the Iltena."
I stand beside Leeciy, looking down at the usually sweet girl speak in such a devilish tone.
"I sent out a signal to the strongest being I could, did Titanios get them?"
"Yes, he did." I say. "What are you doing?"
"I need to communicate, somehow." Lexon says. "I grabbed the strongest psychic of yours I could."
"Get out of my daughter." Leeciy says, his voice low.
Cirus looks straight at him before latching her tiny hand around his throat. "You cannot speak Leeciy-Po, I am talking to Estelle."
September grabs her wrist and pries her hand off Leeciy's throat. "What's going on?!"
"A human!" Lexon says, crawling over and cradling September's face. "It's so young! How old is is?"
"I'm 16." September says.
"16 centuries?" Lexon asks, confused.
September shakes his head.
"I'm getting off track." Lexon says, looking at me. "We've been watching you."
"Why?" I ask.
"Hard to explain." He tsks. "But we've been watching you, and we support your cause."
"Who's we?" I ask.
Cirus's nose starts bleeding, which, for such a strong little thing, is very rare.
He taps his nose, looking at the blood. "I have to leave."
Cirus falls back onto the bed, her eyes fluttering shut.
***
It takes an hour for Cirus to wake up, and at that point she's shaken up, sputtering words.
Leeciy was holding her the whole time, her head in his lap while he tried to wake her up with desperate pleas.
There was about ten minutes where he thought he'd lost her.
Leeciy calms her down when she wakes up, but the confused sputters turned into pained sobs quickly.
All he can do is hold her close, trying to will the pain away.
Her head hurt, and she was sobbing because of that.
Leeciy's both furious and scared, because he can't to anything to help it and he doesn't know what to do.
I sit next to him, playing with Cirus' hair, which she's told me on multiple occasions that she found relaxing.
She cries until she falls asleep, but Leeciy still cradles her.
"Leeciy, she's sleeping." I whisper, pulling my hands out of her hair.
Leeciy looks down before moving her so her head's resting on a pillow, he moves the bulky quilt so it covers her tiny body.
I get off the bed and rub his arm. "Hey."
He turns to look at me, holding back tears.
I grab his hand and pull him outside, so we lean against the railing of the second floor.
"I'm so scared." Leeciy says quietly.
I nod, squeezing his hand.
"I feel like such a bad parent." He whispers.
I shake my head. "You aren't a bad parent."
He chokes back sobs, his eyes shut.
"Penny for your thoughts?" I ask weakly.
That seems to break him, right down the middle.
He buries his face in his hands and sobs, his shoulders shaking.
His sobs were broken and raspy, as if he were fighting them, and knowing Leeciy, he probably was.
I pull him into a hug, and he clings to me, his whole body shaking.
"I-I feel so weak." He sobs. "I can't even help Cirus."
"Hey, it's not your fault." I say, patting his back.
He breathes deeply, trying to stop his crying.
I pull back, my hand resting on his rib, where a permanent scar was, from Titanios's attack. "Leeciy, you've helped Cirus in so many ways."
He nods.
"If it weren't for you, she'd probably be dead in a ditch, riddled with diseases." I say. "You are an amazing father, even if sometimes it doesn't feel like it."
He looks down at me, his fingers twisting in my hair.
"It's awesome that a special little girl like Cirus gets to grow up and have an equally awesome childhood, cuz didn't have one, and neither did you, so the fact you're raising her so well, is amazing."
He smiles, leaning down and kissing my forehead. "Thank you, it means a lot."
I smile back up at him, even though i already knew that.
