PLOT:
Years after the incident with the Volturi, Renesmee Cullen has become a rebellious teenager, refusing to submit to her parents's wishes in dating Jacob Black. She believes her destiny lies elsewhere, and not with some shapeshifter who had feelings for her mom years ago.
Renesmee finds solace in the water, especially during long nights of hearing Bella speak about her future with Jacob. She loves the shores of La Push beach, but she's startled when one night, she encounters the fiery eyes of a mermaid watching her every move.
Renesmee doesn't understand how to react to this creature, and she convinces herself that it was just an illusion she formulated in her brain.
Despite her mind screaming that she's going insane, she finds the mermaid there every night, eager to catch a glimpse of the hybrid in the water.
SUMMARY: Renesmee Cullen no longer wants to be held down by ties to Jacob Black, and she refuses the imprint against her parents's wishes.
