Unexpected love

Chapter 12

"Chris, what are you doing here so early? The office opens at 9am."

"Lilian, I actually came for the documents your father mentioned last night. "

"Right, give me a few minutes and I'll get those for you. Would you like anything to drink?"

"No thank you."

I threw away the flowers along with the note and got those documents for Chris. I was actually expecting Chris tell me something, but when he knocked on my door he saw the flowers and the note I had in my hands.

"Here's the documents, would you like me to go over them, before you sign?"

"No, Thanks. Your father already went over them last night."

"Okay, do you want to go to the other building to check what needs to be remodeled."

"Something urgent happened last night and I need to leave I'll have My friend Andres check the building, I'll see you in a few days, Lilian"

I was wondering if he made that up or was he mad about seeing me with the flowers?
God, why am I thinking so much about what he thinks about me?!

I called Linda the cleaning lady to see if she knew who brought these flowers?

"Ms. Lily, when I came in the office this morning at 8:00am those flowers were already here."

"Were you the only one here at that time?"

"Yes, Ms. Lily"

"Okay, if I ever get anything in please check with me first."

I'm so confused how the hell did these dam flowers get in my office then? I checked the cameras, but apparently they were turned off?
That's odd we always have them on?

Just as I was about to call my father he came in my office

"Honey, you did give Chris those documents right?"

"Yes I did father. I asked him if he wanted to go and check the building that needs remodeling, but he said something urgent came up." I was hoping father would tell me what happened that made Chris leave?

"Yes he called me when you left the house this morning. That man is a busy man managing four company's. Then, his friend got in a car accident earlier today at 6am"

I honestly felt bad for Chris, hopefully his friend gets better.

"Hopefully everything is turns out well, and his friend is alright I told my father"

"Yes, lets hope for that. Also, Linda told me you were wondering about the cameras and someone bringing in some flowers for you?"

"Yes, someone left some flowers and a note that were from Raphael on my desk, but they were here before anyone came in the office. The thing is that I checked the cameras, but they were turned off?"

"That's odd I always leave them on?"

"Same question I had?"

"I check with our employees."

I just worked and got some orders ready and I thought about just ordering something online, since I did receive that note from Raphael I couldn't risk it. Just as I was almost done with my lunch that I had ordered, when I received a call from my friend Jessica crying

"Jessica, why are you crying, are you okay?"

"No, Erick my boyfriend had an accident!"

Now everything made sense. Erick was the friend of Chris that had the accident. I thought to myself.

"Do you know if he okay?"

"He got hit by another car, and he had to get surgery because he fractured his arm! He hasn't called me and I'm worried."

"Do you know what time was his surgery, you know surgery's can take up to several hours."

"Oh Lilian, off course I know, but I'm worried can you and Gracie take me to see him the hospital I don't want to go alone."

"Yes I can, but after work I'll be out by 3pm. Is that okay? Do you know what hospital he's in"

"Yes, I message you so we can meet up at your house."

I ended that call and then wondered what my friends and I got ourselves by meeting Chris and his friends.

I was done with everything around by 2:45pm and I called Gracie and she answered and said she was still in a meeting with a client.

"Lily, can you please take Jessica to go hospital I don't think I'll finish in time. I'll meet you guys to have dinner instead."

"Okay, sounds good."

I was already at Jessica's house by 3:40pm when she came out crying

"Please just take me to the hospital, I need to see if he's alright!"

We drove to the hospital at 4:20pm and asked the front desk lady if we could see Erick and she told us what room he was in, but he hadn't waken up from his surgery.

We made it to his room when we saw an older couple and Chris.

"Hi you must be my son's girlfriend right" the older woman said to Jessica

"Yes, I am how is he?"

"Much better, we are just waiting for him to wake up"

Jessica went straight to where Erick was and I just stood there.

"And who are you? The older man asked"

"I'm Lilian Castelo, friend of Jessica."

"She's the daughter of Eduardo Castelo, the man I partnered with" responded Chris

"Nice to meet you Ms. Lilian" the man responded and looked back at his son

"I'm going to get something to drink would you guys like anything? Chris asked"

For some reason my dumb self blurred out
"I'll go with you."
