The weekend was the best time I had in a long time. I felt so much happier, lighter, even unburdened from all the laughter I did.
And not being a shy person, I told Denny that. "But, you said a weekend full off compliments." I pouted playfully at him in the car as we headed back to the city.
"Yes I did. I gave you plenty of compliments." Denny told me as he picked at some mud he had missed.
We had returned to the stables, covered head to toe in mud, quickly washing ourselves down with a tap before going back to our room.
Denny had let me use the shower first and I took my time, scrubbing myself and my hair.
But the weekend had to end eventually and it was time to hit reality again.
I'm an escort girl. Nothing more.
I scoffed at him. "Such as what?"
"Nice aim. Nice hit. Nice joke." He grinned at me.
I laughed at him, the sort that was deliberately fake and cut off short.
"Whatever." I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Fine. Then I'll tell you the ones I didn't say."
That surprised me a bit. Denny always said what was on his mind and for him to state that, I was a bit intrigued. "Go on."
"How about that you wearing the paint ball gear was hot? Or how you took control of that softball match made you look like a born leader?"
I gave him a cheesy grin. "That's a stupid compliment."
"You looked like a natural Aphrodite covered in mud?" Denny tried, but I just shrugged, my lips pouted and acted like I knew that already.
"Is that the best you've got?" I egged him after a few silent minutes.
"I like women that can take power and control, Harvey." Denny said bluntly. "So I don't know what else I can say that will get a reasonable response from you."
I smiled at him. "Are you trying to say that you want to make me blush?" I asked as I turned slightly to him, moving the seat belt away from my neck. I don't know why it keeps sliding up there, but it does and it irritates me. I fidgeted with it before keeping it in its new spot.
Denny didn't answer me as I smiled wider. "Mr Mason. I'm not a person that knows shame real well, of course my response are that way. But if you think you can give me a compliment that will make my cheeks go redder than my hair, which isn't easy to do, than be my guest."
Denny's eyes darkened as he stared at me while I sat there waiting.
"Very well." He started. "You were amazing this weekend. I enjoyed the small ways you took control on some things and stepped outside your comfort zone." Denny shifted closer, not breaking eye contact with me.
"I like women that know how to do that. But I also enjoy having my control over them too. How was the horse ride?"
I was confused. Wasn't he trying to embarrass me with a compliment? "Horse ride?" We only rode before the mud. We walked back with the horse.
"Yes. How did you cope with it?"
I'm still confused. "Fine, I guess."
Denny undid his seat belt and came closer, right next to me, leaning against me. "So the way your hips grinded the horse, how your thighs tightened around it, how you constantly bounced up and down, didn't affect you in any way?"
I didn't answer him, directly. "Where's the compliment? And even the blushing?" I said softly.
I knew it was affecting me. How I bounced on the horse, how it had parts of me wanting to deliberately do it. I then felt my face heat up. Oh crap.
