Waking Up Early

Roman's POV

I smile at my flat stomach then remember what I have to do. Tell Logan. This will be a challenge not even a prince can face, but I must. I knock on my boyfriend's door and he yells for me to come back later. I try not to cry as I walk back to my apartment.

"What's the matter Princey?" My roommate,Virgil, asks me as I walk towards my room.

I ignore him and keep walking. Now isn't the time for this. I rush into my room and pack a bag. He looks legitimately concerned so I silently sit on the couch with him. He gives me a look that tells me to let it out, and I start bawling.

"What happened, Roman?" He asks and I stumble to try to put words together.

"You need to relax then tell me what's wrong." He tells me. I nod quietly and take a deep breath.

"I-I went to Logan and Patton's apartment to tell Logan something important and he told me to come back later. It's stupid to be this upset but it was super important news." I whisper and Virgil hands me a mug of tea.

"What's the news?" He asks and I choke on air.

"Shit! I'm sorry Roman!" He exclaims and I shake my head.

"It's okay. The news is that I'm pregnant." I tell him after catching my breath.

"Congrats! I have a small hunch that Patton might be pregnant too. At least you two can do it together." He whispers and I smile.

"Thank you, Virgil." I whisper back as someone knocks on the door.

I watch Virgil get up and answer the door. I can't see exactly who it is though. Virgil starts yelling then lets them in. Virgil glares at Logan from the doorway as he rushes towards me. He pulls me into an embrace and I push away after a few moments. He gives me a hurt look.

"Logan. There's something I need to tell you." I whisper and he gasps but sits silently.

"I'm pregnant." I whisper and he pulls me into a warm hug.

I quietly sob into his shoulder as he holds me close. He rubs my back whispering encouragement and praise. I cling to him tightly, sobbing my eyes out. He pulls me closer and presses a small kiss to my lips. I start to calm down slightly, but I still sob quietly.

"I-I'm so happy!" He whispers and I smile softly.

"I'm happy too, Lo." I whisper and lay on his chest.

Time skip

I wake up from another nightmare with a loud gasp. Logan looks up from his work and motions for me to come over. I sit in his lap and he plays with my hair gently. I jump when someone knocks on our apartment door. Logan silently motions for me to sit on the bed and leaves to answer the door.

Virgil rushes in and I silently motion for him to sit. Patton follows, sitting in Virgil's lap. He gives me a look that tells me to spill so I do. I talk for a good thirty minutes and finally tell someone what happens in my nightmares.

"How'd you know something was wrong though?" I ask after calming down.

"Twins are connected remember?" He asks with a smile.

I hug my brother after Patton moves over. He whispers something to Logan as Virgil and I chat. I catch Patton glaring at me not very discreetly. Virgil looks over when I whimper quietly and is met with Patton's cold glare towards me. I can practically feel Virgil's anger but I shush him.

"I'm not taking him from you, Patton. He's my family." I whisper calmly.

I hold out my arms and Patton hugs me tightly, sobbing into my shoulder. Virgil watches hopelessly, like a lost puppy. I give him a warm smile as Patton starts to calm down. Patton sits on Virgil's lap and falls asleep quickly. I sit on my boyfriend's lap, my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. I fall asleep quietly, hoping another nightmare won't wake me up again.

Another time skip

Patton and I relax as Logan and Virgil play video games. I laugh as Logan yells at characters. I feel a slight pain but ignore it. Patton gives me a concerned look but I smile slightly. He motions for me to follow him as he waddles to another room.

"Is everything okay? Be honest, Roman." He whispers and I shake my head quickly.

"Should I go get Logan?" He asks and I nod.

"LOGAN!" He screams and I hear my boyfriend running towards us.

I gasp as a pain knocks me off my feet. I feel my boyfriend's strong arms wrap around me, keeping me from falling. He pulls me close and lifts me into his arms. He whispers encouragement and praise as he runs towards the car.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He whispers as I gasp and grip his hand.

"I'm sorry! I was just so scared! It hurts so much Logan!" I exclaim and he kisses me softly.

"It is quite alright, Roman." He whispers and pulls into the hospital parking lot.

I sob as it feels as if the baby is tearing me apart. I grab his hand with a strong grip as I try not to start pushing. Before long we're in a room and the urge to push becomes unbearable. I sob and yell for a nurse, Logan not wanting to leave my side. She checks me and shakes her head sadly. I wail causing Logan to try to comfort me.

"I-I can't do this!" I sob and he shushes me.

"Princes should never lie." He whispers and kisses my sweaty forehead.

"I love you, Logan." I tell him with a smile

"I love you too, Roman." He whispers faintly.

"Mr.King?" A nurse asks trying to get my attention.

"Yes Ma'am?" I ask and she smiles warmly.

"You're ready to push." She tells me and I freeze. Am I ready for this? It's never occurred to me that Logan and I will have a tiny person of our own. Someone to love and protect and care for. Can I handle this?

Yes I can. I push down with all my force. Logan whispers quiet encouragement as I scream. I feel slight movement but not enough for the force I put into the push. I stop to breathe, panting heavily and grasping Logan's hand. I whimper as a nurse pulls the baby gently.

"We need to get the baby out now!" A doctor yells as more doctors fill the room.

"Mr.King, I need you to push as hard as you can for as long as you can, okay?" A nurse asks and I nod before pushing with all my force.

I feel my energy leave my body as the pain disappears. Everything goes black suddenly. I can't feel anything. I can't see anything. Is this death? I can't be dead! I'm a prince! I'm supposed to be there for my people! NO! I CAN'T BE DEAD!

Time skip
Logan's POV

I sit next to my boyfriend holding our child. Roman fell into a coma after loosing too much blood. I feel a warm hand hold mine. I roll my eyes and search for whomever decided to be here with me. My eyes land on Roman. He's wide awake and staring back at me.

I place our daughter in her crib and wrap my arms around my boyfriend. I sob into his shoulder quietly, finally able to speak to him again. He kisses me gently and I smile against his lips.

"I missed you." I whisper and he smiles.

"I missed you too, Nerd." He smirks and I kiss him happily.
