Chapter 19:

Taylor’s POV:

I scanned the crowd of people once more in search of my orange-haired babe. With no such luck, I put my beer aside and began asking around.

Suddenly I felt a hand poke my shoulder.

“Yeah.” I slurred.

“I think your girlfriend is seriously beating some girl’s ass outside.” He said with humor in his voice.

“What?!?” I half shouted. Pushing past him and many other people in the crowd. I finally walked outside to see a small group of people standing in a circle.

I pushed past them to see Hayley being pulled away by her waist by one of the guest. But she had a strong grip on the other girl’s hair. Her tiny fist colliding with the poor girl’s skull repeatedly.

Curse words were being thrown at each other, and I swear I sobered right up.

Hayley began to kick the air as her grip became tighter. Bringing the girl to her knees. Hayley began to drag her as she in defensively kept shouting to “get off.”

Hayley only ignored her pleas.

I reacted and put myself between the two.

Hayley released the girl’s hair with one last swing over my shoulder.

Mystery girl picked herself off the grounding. Breathing uneasily.

She flung her tangled hair to the side and I noticed that I did in fact know this girl. Baylie.

Furry in her eyes, she tried to hit Hayley. But I blocked her. Getting a scratch mark on my left cheek.

Warm blood came dripping down the side by the cut.

“Don’t fucken lay a hand on my man!” I heard my little fireball shout from behind me as she was being held back.

“Fuck you!” Baylie shouted back. Trying to get past me.

I reacted quickly and took a hold on her shoulders.

“Just let it go Baylie. GO home.” I said with full sincerity.

“NO, fuck that. Your girlfriend is crazy.”

“Who are you calling crazy? Are you kidding me?!? You’re the one that came to start shit!” Hayley shouted behind me.

I rolled my eyes. Laughing on the inside.

“Just go.” I said once again. Her eyes locked with mine.

She nodded. “But this won’t be the last time you see me Hayles.” A sinister smile spread on her face.

“Go.” I said more sternly this time.

She just scoffed and pulled away from me. Walking the opposite direction until her silhouette was lost in the darkness of the night.

I took a deep breath. Turning around to do some damage control.

Most of the people that had gathered to see such a fight had gone back inside.

Only a few party guests remained. The ones remaining being my friends.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to start anything. She just provoked me.” Hayley said to my friend Jeff, the groom.

He shook his head. “No problem.” He chuckled. “I’m just surprised at how strong you are for such a tiny girl.”
