Dancing With The Devil
Jailah ChristiansI watched the video over and over again to the point where it had made me sick. Odell stood in the strip club with a girl dancing on his lap, as if that wasn't bad enough he proceeded to grope the girl before practically sucking off her face. I turned it off after the sixtieth replay, then placed my phone on the counter.
And that right there is why I never took his seriously. Odell always knew what to say and how to say it, he knew what to do and most importantly the way around any woman's body. He was a weapon of mass destruction, the definition of a womanizer. Although we decided that what we had would never be a serious relationship for the protection of my career, I also know he was incapable of being faithful which is something I wasn't about to negotiate with. Odell always ended up on the cover of some magazine with a mystery girl, despite if things were good between us or not. That was just how he was, he knew it and I knew it. Which is why I try so hard never to fall for his stupid sop stories about wanting me and wanting to put a ring on my finger, to start a family, introduce me to his moms. Bullshit, bullshit and more bullshit.
But of course, I couldn't get mad. This is what I signed up for after all. I can't believe he almost had me believing him last night. I almost cried this time too, ugh. C'mon Jailah, you know better.
I had decided to work form home today, Ericka had called earlier telling me that she forgot to inform me about the bridesmaids having to take some dance lesson for our entrance during the reception. Although I'd rather be in the office working, I didn't mind getting a day to myself, it had been a while so why not?
As I finished up my brunch, packing everything neatly where it was meant to be. I headed up the steps to finish getting ready, it was 12:15 and I wasn't in the mood to hear no ones' mouth about how I was always late. Especially since none of those girls were in the positions to talk, I just so happened to be the worse out of them all.
I surveyed my outfit, one of Odell's oversized t-shirts that had orange print on the front, blue light-washed jeans and my wave runners. It was nice to get out of the heels once in a while. I was a huge sneaker head and never got the chance to wear them with me always being in the office, so I took advantages when I could.
I grabbed my phone, car keys and Gucci side bag before heading out my room and down the stairs to turn off all the lights and the TV. I double checked the stove then made my way towards the door and as if on cue, it opened. Odell walked through in the same outfit from last night, he looked horrible and smelt even worse. He wore liquor as if it wore his cologne.
I covered my nose as he stepped closer, shutting the door. I watched as he kicked off his shoes and scratched his head. "I thought you'd be at work already."
"Well you thought wrong." I tried to step around him but he blocked me.
"Where you headed now?"
"Out?"
"With?"
"Odell, don't even. Just go get a shower and do you cause I'm in the mood for you right now."
"We need to talk."
"We do not. You don't owe me anything, remember?"
"So... I'm guessing you saw the video?"
