Twenty-One
Too Nice
Ericka James"Mommy, wake up." I heard Samantha say as she patted her tiny hands against my face. I wasn't ready to get out of this bed, that's for sure. After all that walking and begging for bus rides in order to get here; I felt as if I could sleep for the next 48 hours. My eyes opened and I noticed Samia still fast asleep in my arms; clearly she had the same mindset.
I let out a long yawn looked around the room as I stretched, making sure the chair I had put in front of the door was still there. With that creepy ass girl being under this roof; I had to find a way to protect my babies and them being in a whole other room was not going to work. I didn't understand why she was around or who she was to Cairo. To be quite frank, I didn't really care; it's not my house. However, one thing I know for sure, is that something was all the way off with that girl and I wasn't about to stick around to find out.
"Alright Samantha, I'm up." I said, noticing her still patting against my cheeks.
"I'm hungry."
"You're always hungry baby." I rubbed my eyes and wiggled my arm from under Samia so I could sit upright.
"Can uncle make pancakes."
"We already talked about this. remember? What did I tell you yesterday on the bus?"
"uncle Ricky's bad."
"Exactly," I ran my hand through her curls, "we are somewhere better now, okay? With your dad. Remember how you always wanted to meet him, well today is the day." Samantha grinned causing me to laugh. I kissed the top of her head then leaned over to kiss Samia's cheeks. "Wake up butter cup." I said, beginning to tickle her. Soon her once snores became giggles, especially since Samantha joined in as well. "Get her!"
"I'm up! I'm up!" Samia said through a fit of laughter, wiggling from side to side as she kicked her little fit. "I'm up!"
"Okay, I think we got her." I told Samantha, lifting my hand to give her a high five"
"Now can we eat?" she asked and I nodded.
"Now we can eat. Let me just go brush my teeth at least."
I climbed out of the bed, leaving the two sisters to have their normal session of talking. Samantha of course, couldn't wait to tell Samia that they were at their daddy's house, which made Samia's eyes open up to its maximum size. I had to hide my laughter as I walked into the built-in bathroom of the room, it led over to the nursery as well; which is why I had another chair in front of that door as well.
After brushing my teeth, throwing my hair up into somewhat up a ponytail and putting back on the only clothes I had, the ones I wore here; I was finally ready to head downstairs. Hopefully, I would be able to call my mother. We weren't on the best terms but I knew she wouldn't turn her back on the girls and right now, they were all that mattered. I could lose a couple pounds and get on a pole or something, easily but as for now; I needed something to start with. I needed her help.
Samia and Samantha held hands as I removed the chair from the door, I made sure to go out into the hallway before them. Kensia's door was still locked so I'm guessing she was still sleeping, or hiding something of course. Cairo's door was left open, I could hear his voice coming from downstairs so I'm guessing he was already working.
I ushered the girls down the stairs and we stepped foot onto the cold marble floor, this place was amazing. I had never gotten the chance to really take a look last night but from what I could see, I was impressed. Especially since he was such a busy guy, maintaining a house this big must've been a whole lot of work.
