Nine
Mr. Smooth
Levi Grant"You know this is silly, right?" Jailah said, climbing out of her car and shutting the door behind her.
"How?" I got off of the hood of my car and chucked my cigarette to the side.
"We drove two separate cars, you could've just went home."
"I wanted to make sure you got here safely." She stood in front of me as I now leaned against the side of my car. The lights from her front porch allowing me to see her beauty for what it was. I bit my bottom lip and rubbed my hands together as I checked her out. "It's three in the morning, you're a sexy, single, young lady. It would be on my shoulders if anything happened to you."
"I'm safe, I got pepper spray."
"Yeah, what's pepper spray to quick right hook?"
"I live in a gated community."
"Yeah and when I was younger I used to rob from gated communities." I laughed and she just shook her head.
"If you think I'm going to invite you in, you're wrong. I'm not that easy."
"Oh, I wasn't thinking that at all ma. I genuinely just wanted to make sure you got home safely. Plus," I gestured to the Lamborghini that also was parked in the parking lot. "Seems like you already got company."
"Unfortunately," she looked up at the window of the room that had it's lights on then rolled her eyes. "I've been meaning to change those locks."
"I mean, I can easily handle that if you want me too."
"No, he wouldn't hurt a fly, I'm good for now."
"You sure?"
"Positive, he's probably asleep by now anyways."
"Why not at his own crib?"
"Cause, I've spoiled him... but he's in for a rude awakening."
"Very rude, especially with me in the picture."
"Someone's confident."
"No doubt," I smirked, "I know what I want." I placed my hand on her waist, pulling her close to me. "And like I said before, I'm up for this challenge."
Jailah stood there silently, just staring up at me. I followed her gaze that went down to my lips before she licked hers. I took that as my cue, I leaned forward and just before I could close the space between us she looked away and cleared her throat. "Once again, not that easy." She said, "Thank you for helping me get through those videos, I appreciate it, and for coming here to make sure I got in safe." She wrapped her arms around my neck to give me a hug and I embraced her as well, it lasted a while before she pulled away.
"Don't mention it. Get some rest."
"Same to you!" she waved before heading for the door. I waited for her to get inside before I jumped into my car and cut on the engine.
I lit myself another cigarette before I backed out of the three car driveway and down the street, I made it out the gates and sped through the empty streets as I made my way to my house which was about twenty minutes from where Jailah stayed and about 45 from where Cairo lived.
I pulled into the parking lot of my home then hopped out, grabbing my phone and my work bag. I walked up the steps and opened the door to see the place in darkness, I sighed as I flicked on the light. I was used to coming home at these hours due to work and Cairo always needing me at random times, but I had to admit that with a house as big as mine, the silence was beginning to get boring.
