Three & Half Years Later

"Analise." I hit the intercom, waiting for her response.

"Yes,"

"Do me a favour, I need you to find the budgeting sheet for this year's super bowl so I can compare it to last years. Also, please get me the updated list of which teams are doing trades and the names of players ending their contacts this year."

"Got it."

"Thank you."

"No problem."

I flipped through a couple contracts that sat on my desk, making sure I went through every single clause and guideline. Each individual had a different offer which is why I had to pay attention and make sure that we they weren't getting the short end of the stick and that the company wasn't spending money where we didn't need to be. All of our players were amazing, some however, were better than other.

The intercom buzzed again, letting me know that I had a call on line one. Analise knew only to let two calls through, so I'm guessing it was one or the other. "Hello?" I answered, sitting back in my seat.

"Hey baby girl, how you doing?"

"I'm good mom. How are you?"

"I'm good, just getting in from work. I'm surprised that you're still at the office."

"I know, me too. I'm about leave now, I just got some things to finish before I can go,"

"Okay, I won't hold you up then. I just called to say that I got the GQ magazine." I grinned and bit on the end of my pen. "I had to put on my glasses, I couldn't believe that my daughter's face made it on the front cover, of GQ!"

"I know, it's still so unreal."

"Your interview last night was amazing as well."

"Thanks mom."

"I just wanted to let you know that I'm so proud of you, I pray God continues to bless you abundantly. This is the only beginning of the greater things that he has in store."

"Amen, thank you."

"I know if your dad was here, he would say the same."

"I hope so," I stared down at the picture I had of him on my desk. To think, two years had gone by without him. It was still hard for me to process, but day by day I was getting stronger, I knew he was watching over me with the number of blessings I was receiving. The only explanation would have to be diving intervention.

"I know so. Before I let you go though, I wanted to know when I'd be seeing you again."

"Uh, I don't have anything scheduled for Atlanta as of right now, but I promise to let you know when I do."

"Fair enough, this time, try to make it longer than a weekend. These little pop-ins aren't enough time."

"I know, I will look into it. I promise, with the NFL being off season, I should be able to find the time."

"Remember you said this,"

"I know you won't allow me to forget." I smirked.

"You know it!" she said, chuckling. "I'll call you tomorrow. Have a good rest of your day."

"You as well. I love you."

"I love you more." She said before ending the phone call.

Once she was gone, I finished up on the last contract before packing up and shutting down my computer. Regardless of this promotion, I still had the bad habit of being the last person here, every single day; in season and out. I saw the walls of this new office more than I saw the walls of my million-dollar home, it was quite ridiculous now that I thought about it.
