Jailah Christians

"Nana!" Cailah screamed the moment I let her out of her seat and placed her onto the ground. She ran from my side and struggled up the steps that lead to the porch of my mother's brand-new home. My mother stood there in a pair of plaid red and black PJ's, a bonnet on her head of course, with big furry slippers. Her face looked much brighter, smile much bigger, she had put on a bit of weight so I knew that she was definitely doing much better.

"My beautiful, beautiful baby." My mother picked Cailah up and placed kisses against her cheeks. "I missed you so much."

"I miss you too!" Cailah said, hugging my mom as if her life depended on it.

I smiled and the sound of the trunk opened caused me to turn around, to see Mychal unloading our luggage. "What are you doing?" I asked under my breath, walking around the car to place my hand on our luggage before he could take them out."

"Getting the bags...."

"We have a reservation at the Hilton. Why would you be taking them out?"

"Yeah... I cancelled that."

"Why?" I folded my arms.

"Because your mother requested to spend time with us and I'm not about to say no." he smirked. "I don't see the problem."

"The problem is that I didn't know about this. You can't just be making decisions without me knowing."

"Okay, I was just trying to surprise you babe..."

"Well it was a horrible idea. I'm not about to stay at my moms house when I could be at a five-star hotel, where it's safe for Cailah and I." I rolled my eyes. "You never think, do you?"

His brows furrowed, and I watched his jaw clench as he listened to me. "Upsetting you wasn't my intentions. I just know how much your mom wanted to see us and how much Cailah wanted to see her grandmother. I made a decision for our family as the man of the house."

"You made a decision that you shouldn't have made without running it by me first. That's my daughter, I made the reservation out of the city for a reason. What if we run into him? What if he sees her?" Mychal walked up to me and placed his finger under my chin to get me to look up at him.

"You've been tense this whole trip and I understand. You're scared but you know that I care for Cailah's safety as much as you do. Although, I do believe he deserves to meet her; I can't make the decision, it's all on you. However, when it comes to her safety; you best believe that I will never put you or her in harms way. I am here now Jai, you are and will always be safe. Iight?" he pecked my lips then glared into my eyes. "Now get your sexy, pregnant ass inside. I'll be in in a second to give you a massage." He winked then kissed my lips again. "Let me just get the bags out."

I pouted then let out a sigh. "Let me help you at least."

"I got it."

"Are you sure? We packed quite a lot. I can get the smaller bags."

"Positive babe."

"You heard the man!" my mother added, waving me over. "Come on in, I want to give you guys the tour." I smirked and rubbed my growing belly as I walked up to the front door. "Good to see you." My mom hugged me and said. "I love this new hair. You look like Storm."

"Thank you, Cailah picked out the color this time." I made sure to check my surrounding before I removed my sunglasses and took a step inside.

"Wow," I said, looking around at the elegant décor that I could see from the front door.
