"Veronica!" Shouted Veronica's mom, waking her up.
"What?" She called back, barely awake.
"School starts in an hour!! Get up!"
Veronica sat up. How did she let herself sleep in so long? School started in an hour, but she had to give herself a mini tour beforehand, she technically she only had 30 minutes to get there. That wasn't much. She threw on her clothes and grabbed a bagel out of the toaster. She quickly put on her shoes and packed her bag. Veronica looked at the clock. 20 minutes had already gone by. How the fuck? She swore it had only been two minutes, but she didn't have time to think about that. At least she had 10 more minutes left to just chill out.She didn't do much chilling. All she could think about was all the things she had to do, make friends, navigate the school, make up a backstory for herself so nobody would have to hear what really had gone on in New York. Not that it had totally sucked there. Most of it had been amazing. It was her home. If she was allowed, she would go back in the blink of an eye. But big suckish things had happened that she didn't want to talk about. Hopefully she'd never have to.
Veronica looked at the clock. One minute until she had to leave. She quickly checked her bag to see if everything was there. Yep, everything. Almost. Where the fuckity fuck fuck is my phone? She thought. She checked everywhere, but she couldn't see it. This is great. First I get up late, now my phone has disappeared. Her first instinct was to check the bathroom, where she always seemed to leave her phone, but then she remembered that she had moved and barely knew where the bathroom was. That made things ten times harder. After 15 minutes she thought fuck it. I'm just going to leave without it. So she left her new house without her phone. Life sucks.
