Estelwen (Alastegiel) POV

Did he really just kiss me? I ask myself still standing there. I do not know how I feel about it, but now is not the time. I have to get back and get ready to leave.

After everyone is ready we stand outside along a river waiting for Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel. When they get here Lord Celeborn gives us each a clock and says, “ Never before have we clad strangers in the garb of our own people. May these cloaks help shield you from unfriendly eyes."

Lady Galadriel gives each of us gifts. I am first, “For you, Alastegiel I give a sheath of arrows. This is no ordinary sheath, it has a never ending supply of arrows. May it aid you in battle."

“My gift for you, Legolas, is a bow of the Galadhrim. Worthy of the skill of our woodland kin.

She gives Merry and Pippin each a dagger. “These are the daggers of the Noldorin. They have already seen service in war. Do not fear, young Peregrin Took. You will find your courage."

“And for you, Samwise Gamgee, Elven rope made of hithlain." Lady Galadriel says giving him a rope.

“Thank you, my Lady. Have you run out of those nice, shiny daggers?" Sam asks her. Lady Galadriel just smiles at him and move to Gimli, then to Aragorn, then Boromir, and finally Frodo.

I can't hear them, but I can tell what it is. I have seen it before, when I was little. It is the light of Eärendil, it is the most beloved star.

We start to pack the boats we are using to go down the river while I am helping Boromir, I can't help but overhear Legolas talking to Merry and Pippin.

Legolas picks up a piece of Lembas bread and says, “Lembas, Elvish waybread." He takes a bite of it, “One small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man." He puts the Lembas bread back in the bag and walks away.

“How many did you eat?" Merry asks Pippin.

“Four." Pippin answers. I can't help but give a small giggle, no one heard me though.

Soon after she gives us the gifts, we all get on the boats and leave. I was going to miss her so much. I had to do my best not to cry because I am not sure if I am ever going to see her again. Why do I cry so much? I got lost in thought again, not paying any attention to any conversations until we reach a place for camp.

That night when everyone was asleep. What Galadriel had said start to happen. I felt the ring tempting me and calling me to it. I tried to resist it, but it wad too strong. I started to walk towards Frodo. Then I notice Legolas. I remember that he has is dying of a broken heart, and that I have to save him. Immediately the whispers from the ring that were tempting me are gone. I go, lay back down and got some sleep.

Dawn came quickly, and soon it was time to go again. I, of course, could not stop thinking about last night. That again I was not paying attention to anything that was going on until we reached the western border.

“We cross the lake at nightfall. Hide the boats and continue on foot. We approach Mordor from the North." Aragorn tells us while we set up camp.

“Oh, yes? Just a simple matter of finding our way through Emyn Muil, an impassable labyrinth of razor-sharp rocks. And after that, it gets even better. Festering, stinking marshland as far as the eye can see." Gimli says to Aragorn.

“That is our road. I suggest you take some rest and recover your strength, Master Dwarf." Aragorn says to Gimli, the walks away.

“Recover my-" Gimli starts to say, obviously shocked. Then continues, “Dwarves don't need to recover... Recover strength? Pay no heed to that, young Hobbit." He says to Pippin.

Then merry says, “Where's Frodo?" We all look around out camp, I notice that Boromir is gone too.

Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, and I. Split up to go look for them. Gimli goes with Legolas and I go with Aragorn. I just hope nothing bad happens.
