Pha's POV
"Fo...Forth..."
"N...o... No... Help me..."
"Help... Help me..."
I sit up with a jerk, fully awake by the cries and immediately glance at Yo.
I heave a sigh of relief when I saw he is still sleeping.
Not from Yo...
I glance towards the bed next to Yo, the source of the cries.
"Help... me..."
"Forth..."
"Forth..."
In the bed next to Yo, Kit is moaning in anguish, tossing and struggling as if he is fighting someone or something. Beads of perspiration are clearly shown on his forehead. No doubts, he is having a nightmare.
Forth is sitting on the side of Kit's bed, shaking him awake gently, talking to him in a soothing voice, bending down to kiss the tears that seep out from his closed eyes.
"Hey! Darling, I'm here. Shush... Wake up, Kit. Open your eyes. I'm here. I'm right here. You are safe now. No one is going to hurt you. You are safe now." Forth whispers softly.
I glance at the clock hanging on the wall. It's 5 am in the morning.
I have been dozing off in the chair, beside Yo's bed, for over 2 hours.
Standing up, I do some stretching exercises to loosen the stiffness in my muscles that cause by sleeping in the chair.
Forth is still talking to Kit in his soothing voice. After a while, the moaning gradually stops, Kit's face scrunched into a frown, and the movements of his head and the fluttering of his eye lashes indicate that he is forcing himself to wake up.
"Open your eyes, Darling. Open your eyes and look at me. I'm here. I'm here with You. You are safe. I won't let anyone hurt you."
Slowly, Kit opens his eyes and asks in a soft and barely heard voice, "Forth...?"
"Darling, yeah, it's me. I'm here and you are safe now. You are in the hospital."
Kit bolts upright and throws himself into Forth's embrace. He hugs Forth tightly and cries out, "Forth... I was so... scared... I thought... I will never... see you... again..."
Forth strokes soothingly along Kit's spine while whispering into his ear. Due to the distance, I can't hear what he says, but I have a vague idea, from the look on Kit's face.
Suddenly, Kit gasps, and he grasps Forth's front shirt with both hands and almost scream in panic, "Yo! Yo! Where is Yo?! Blood! I saw blood coming out from his forehead. He is bleeding. Where is he?! Where is Yo?!"
"Shush... Darling, he is safe! Yo is safe! See, he is now lying on the bed next to you, sleeping peacefully. The doctor said he has concussion, but he will be fine." Forth turns Kit's head towards Yo who is still sleeping.
I know I should give them some 'alone' time, but I can't wait any longer. I'm anxious to know what happened during the attack.
When I'm about to walk over to Kit's bed, I feel a light tug at the hem of my t-shirt and I look down. I can hardly breathe when I saw a small hand holding my t-shirt's hem. Heart beating rapidly with anticipation and joy, I shift my gaze from the small hand to its owner's face.
He is awake! He is awake!
He's now looking at me with a weak smile. Despite his bloodless face and bandage on his head, he still looks beautiful to me.
